You have all heard me go on (and on and on) about trying to get my immigration stuff sorted out, but what an expensive and complicated process it is.
Well, it has been made a lot more streamlined in the last little while, and I finally filed the paperwork back in November because since moving upstate last year we have more disposable income and could actually afford it.
My interview was yesterday, and I was approved - I am now legal and a green card holder!
I can get a SSN, get a driving license, get a job, go back to school, get credit and accounts in my own name, and most importantly travel back and forth to Ireland!

That is wonderful news and congrats are in order. Will you take me with you when you travel to Ireland?? My daughter asked only one thing as a graduation present from PA school......she wants me to go with her to Ireland!

Wonderful! Now you can have a normal life. Your family in Ireland must be so pleased, too - now they can show off their and your homeland to your daughters.
