How does the geelong wool in Sneak Peeks compare with merino in feel? I am thinking that the spray tonal dying will have a gently mottled effect, not stripey, when knitted up, would this be true? Thanks for your answers :-)

Hello Sandra,
I have handled both the yarn in ball format and as a knitted swatch, and this yarn is a very fine, soft wool - the fibres are as fine as merino but not quite as crimpy, so there`s slightly less bounce to the yarn.
The spray tonal dying appears to be quite even, resulting in a gentle mottled effect, and our swatch does not have any striping.

Hmmm, Bets, are you thinking baby clothes?

I spent a ridiculous amount of money on yarn to get the pattern for the baby dress in the SOAK ads. I figured I can use the expensive alpaca for something else. This is nice, and you know I don`t function well in solids. ;-)
