I like the sample coat better. For size 39 (M) I need only 10 balls. But someone said that better to have extra ball. I think I am going to make it one inch shorter, than I should have enough.

SK, I really like the coat. I looked at some of the finished products on Rav. People shaped like me (NOT like the tall slim model) look a little less attractive in it, so I am wondering if I can add a few stitches in the hem and make it more of an A-line instead of a column. I think that would be a better shape.
I bought 11 balls.

I ordered the claret for the coat, I love coats like this, I can wear one most of the winter. I was in Nashville getting another procedure yesterday and by the time I got home and sobered up slightly, there were four colors. That was fine, I like them all and would have been happy with any of them :)

Mmmm, Bets, Benne and SK all got this! Very good chance that I`m going to follow like a lemming and get some too, espcially since my favorite color Claret is still available and I love the fast knitting up of bulky weight!

Bets, I checked the pics on Rav too and the pics where it is laying flat, unmodelled, it does look straight up and down. I agree, if one could add some stitches on the side especially to avoid that "cupping the bottom" look with the back view it would be better. Another alternative is to leave the lower buttons unbuttoned, looks like the tall slim model in the picture did that too!
