I`m going to be making at least one everyway wrap from IWK Fall 09 in the next several weeks. I plan to use HW. I`m a bit stuck on a color for the first one, going back and forth between fiddlehead green, spiced wine, and grape heather. Any thoughts on those colors or other suggestions? The first giftee is an outdoorsy lady in her mid-late 50s. I want it to be just right. Bri

What colors does she like to wear, Bri? If she wears a lot of tawny colors, all the colors are good, if she likes cool colors, the purple or the green might be better. (That`s just me tho)

The good news is that she wears a variety of colors; the bad news is she wears a variety of colors. I am thinking some about which color would look best with the stitches and cables. Don`t want all that pretty to get lost! :)

Print out the HW colors, tape to the wall and throw a dart.

.....AND (continuing being ever helpful) the pattern started life as a gorgeous reversible vest but IWK made her take the back out. ??? (And they changed the name from the Tasha Shawl) I would have knit the whole vest in a heartbeat. J.

Joan- You are too funny. I had out my HW cheat sheet from the snip exchange of `04 (?) last night and was thinking darts!
I saw the chart issue and read about the design change. I`ll bet it wouldn`t be hard to make our own vest pattern from what we know. MWAHAHAHA.

Well count on me to do it the easy way....I emailed the designer Okmin and she said is just now writing an English language pattern for the original vest design. ;-p

That is awesome. I`m all for the path of least resistance, especially these days! I will be on the lookout. This pattern had me at hello, which hasn`t happened in a long, long time. b

I love the fiddlehead green it has a depth all the way to black, spiced wine is lovely with those little bits of yellow/gold highlights and grape heather is gorgeous with the range of colors. I think the fiddlehead green and the spiced wine make me think more of nature`s seasons, so depending on coloring, I`d got with one of those two for the nature lover. Of course, this is all from my totally non-opinionated view. ;) That`s a very cool pattern, neat and like a puzzle, fun. :)

You know me so well.:) After I typed that, I went and looked at the colors again and thought all of them were so beautiful, really, she would like any one that you pick, maybe just go with the color that flatters her coloring the most.

It is in the interweave gallery now modeled different ways on some "real people." It looks great on all the real people in every different way they have it. I don`t think you can go wrong in any color, but in my limited fashion reading for fall, purple is supposed to be big.

http://www.knittingdaily.com/media/p/32071.aspx Very nice. I love the colour shown. Probably the least likely colour to suit me tho.

I was thrilled to see it in action in the gallery. It would`ve taken something dramatic for me to change my mind about it. I love the color the sample is but that`s just me.

There is also Tranquil Lagoon-the color for blondes and silver tresses everywhere. This is seriously a good color for a lot of people.

Just to enter this discussion late: What about Mid-Indigo Heather, if she likes blues. Can you find out which colors whe prefers? That is a lovely gift for you to knit!! Jamie

I hadn`t looked at tranquil Lagoon or mid-indigo heather. How do we think those would pair with jeans? I suspect the wrap will get a work out over the next few years.

I love tranquil lagoon too, and I am not a blue person, or a blonde.

Thanks Amy-I knew that blondes and silvers were good in it, had no idea how it was on Autumns!
