Knitting couch time sounds fun. We`ve got some spring cleaning to do and some gardening. I`d love to finish my mom`s cardigan (free Drops pattern)in time for mother`s day but am feeling very unmotivated. My Millefili fine project needs blocking and ends woven. So, instead of working on any of the above, I decided to start an afghan--crochet, of course.

Working on my second Wren. Haven`t blocked the first one yet. Must start on samples for the June retreat and knit `my gansey`. Also time to knit another sample garment for Wales, I`ve only done my cardigan/jacket so far. I have the yarn for my SIL`s - it`s going to be a pullover in gorgeous red in the Debbie Bliss Merino that was up early in the year, with black panels with the Sasha Kagan `Scotty Dogs` motif on them. Should be fun and I need to have at least one model with a Sasha Kagan `design element` as she is coming to give two days of workshops on colour and design before the knitters begin their projects.
I`d better get busy!

2nd wren is on the needles in Berocco Miami and aqua color, a baby sweater in some of tom`s handdyed, booties lots of booties, a baby hat, and Tom`s sweater languishes on the side. I also have 1 1/2 repeats of the Acorn and leaf to do but everything else is more intriguing! I won`t wear the scarf now, like tom`s sweater. We also moved all the living room furniture around and I rehung some of the curtains for more springy ones. Olive Garden for dinner tonight as we meet our oldest, and Tom is dying some more yarn!

Well, I wanted to wear Wren Next weekend while I pretend to be at Maryland...(If I go into the basement and start opening up bins there will be almost as much yarn...) but right now the back is still three inches long. I am swatching that perle cotton, which turne dout to be not quite the color I thought - instead it is a color I ADORE and am never sure I can wear. However, my mother can wear the same colors as Betsy, soif it ain`t good for me maybe ML will get dsomething out of it. And ML`s stole is right where it has been for months.
My big success so far is Luna. Luna, Luna, knew I loved that girl (HP joke)...I realized the other day that I am already, as far as I can figure, past the number of repeats it calls for, and I just can`t stop. It is already as long, unblocked, as it is supposed to be, blocked, and they do get larger, right?
Thanks to Daryl I will be able to start my Hogwarts socks as soon as I decide on a ribbing. I think I am going with the color patterns. Or maybe the lace. No, maybe the color patterns. I have even contemplated knitting both. I am a little worried that the person who is spoiling me is not going to end up getting hers, as she has not really heard much from her spoiler. Having an extra pair around might be nice, just in case... And this is too much fun entirely and I am signing up for the second Hogwarts sock swap as soon as it opens.
Socks - a project I can finish in one lifetime...
HMMM - Jayne sent me some sock yarn when we HUGe`ed...Do I think that would make good Horcrux socks? I am starting to think I might want to find out...

I`ve changed Luna shawl yarns several (SEVERAL!!) times, but now have it down to 2 Lunas, and a Highland Wool Wrap. My goal was to eliminate and get it down to only one shawl by May 1st, but I`m enjoying all three! Luna is very straighforward and well-written; the Wrap is like a very fun brain-teaser! The elimination process is not going well.
I`m also finishing off the sleeves of the Katrina striped top-down, plus playing with an EZ mobius vest. Socks are WIP ("work in purse")

Well, I`m feeling MUCH better now! Everybody has more stuff on the needles than I do! This must be an all-time first...which leads to this confession: I am no longer the lace nudnik I once was. In fact, I`ve purchased Jane Sowerby`s eye-goggling book and so far have successfully quenched a raging case of startitis. Here`s what`s lurking in my knitting closet. The shawl KAL - Aran Victorian Lace in turquoise. The second piece of Oberle`s North Sea shawl in lavender KP fingering. Luna at the second repeat in a cheap fuzzy acrylic that is in fact looking terrific but probably won`t stay the course when worn. Sun Ray in its third repeat in yellow wool. Waiting in queue, everything I haven`t already made from Oberle and everything from the Sowerby book. I am having a great time! I usually start something new on Sundays. Today it`ll be Oberle`s Highland Triangle shawl in her hand-dyed yarn. The ancient Roman sybarites had nothing on me! Mary

The kids are back in school here, and we are all gearing up for Labor Day-wahhooo! I am halfway (on ball four of eight) thru a top made from DenMknit. Sadly, it tries my patience-I am knitting in the round, so it takes twice as long to see any progress, AND I have to knit it longer in anticipation of shrinkage. Getting to the underarm decreases is taking a while. (My small inner Betsy kicks ground with toe and whines "Are we therrreee yettttt?")
Whatcha working on? T, did you do your back to school shopping?

I`ve been knitting the placed cable sweater from Fall IWK and completely understand the lack of visible progress, thanks to knitting in the round. The back & front are finished, just the sleeves and the neck to go. I`m also taking socks with me on our getaway north this weekend instead of hauling the placed sleeves all over creation. I might need to get those needles sparking; it`s supposed to be 58 chilly degrees on night, which is basically winter for me. I am cold already.

Still slugging it out with the North Sea Shawl in black (ack!) Baby Cash. This my last black project. Did get the progress off the needles and blocked for a look-see on dimensions. (pic on my blog today: http:// vamantaknits.blogspot.com) Next are some quick kids sweaters & hats for A4A.

A felted purse and a lace shrug - both my own design - to be shop samples. The shrug is taking forever since I`m sort of making it up as I go - and am frogging often. I`ll try to post something on my blog. <<Oooh forgot to mention - I started a blog!>> Mystery Stole #3, the Leaf Cardi, and another Luna Moth... no wonder I don`t seem to be making any progress. KADD indeed!

I just finished several baby gifts and wanted to take a little break before starting a big new project. I am just trying out some new stiches (or at least new to me) on some Sugar & Cream - I`ll use the swatches as dishcloths. Whenever I want to teach myself a new stich, I make cotton dishcloth squares.
I also have a UFO(shrug from a 2005 issue Simply Knitting) that is almost done but needs to be sewn up. I`m such a proceastinator on the finishing!

What colors are you using and which yarn? Sarah`s Yarns has kits in the original colors with the JaggerSpun Maine Line yarn, for less than $20. I`d like to use the colors that were in the photo that went around; I know it`s on the hard drive *someplace*.
OTN is Dayflower Shawl from Hand Jive Knits, using Baby Silk doubled, in Cedar. Then there`s the Classic Elite Four Seasons Vine Lace Vest in Louet Gems, also in green.

Well, I Did do a bunch of Back-to-School shopping. This weekend`s project is to put it in the backpack.
As to what I have on the needles, why don`t we just say - everything. Everything. I have ML`s stole that hasn`t gotten a row longer in a million days, a pair of swatch socks for BH that ought to tell me how to make a pair for my HSS2 partner, that Luna Moth that I started months ago, a baby sock from Cat Bordhi`s new book, (It is not clear to me why this is supposed to be a difficult concept to master;t he hardest part for me is trying to figure out why she talks about the needles moving clockwise because I don`t worry about where the needles go - just where the knitting goes) a swatch for a pair of socks from IWK Socks publication, please note we are not talking here about projects about to be frogged, projects that have been in progress for who knows how long, etc, etc...
What`s worse I have even more writing on the needles, so to speak.
T, running around in circles with her hands up in the air screaming "No, No, NOOOOO!"
