OK, I`m sure I so late to the party but after seeing Bet`s post a couple of days ago I took the time to go to the Vogue website and see what she was talking about - 360! Its like knitting porn!!! There are so many details that NEVER show in the magazine and while I never did and never will look like those models it was wonderful to see the close ups. Way to go Vogue! I guess I forgive you for having a lame website for so long!

Thank you, thank you Laura for explaining what Vogue 360 is! This is the next best thing to seeing the garment in person. Bets, now I understand your reticience about the buttons throughout the middle of the ruffle, for some reason from the magazine photo I thought there was just the top button. I`ve only seen the Glitz designs on 360 so far but already know I can rule out the Iris Schreier diagonal top for my body, looks like it would cling to any bulge, though it is lovely on the model. Most of the others look like they have the drape and ease to be flattering and forgiving!

So that`s not just me, is it, Sandra? I would be fine with the top button, and I would be ok putting snaps on the back of the ruffle, but I just don`t like the buttons-thru-the-ruffle thing.

Definitely do without the buttons, Bets. Snaps, or have flat buttons fasten inwards. Or just sew up the front unless you think you`d wear it open. With the right yarn it`ll look elegant sans buttons.

I finally had a chance to look at it, and thought it might also look good (less bulky) with just the top ruffle, around the neck. Is this a totally nutty idea? (I`m still not sure of how to finish the center front - a simple pleated seam down the middle, maybe?)

Yes, I agree with you and Alice, ditch the buttons! I`m looking at the magazine still photo and it appears that they downplayed the buttons by arranging the ruffles "just so", so that the buttons, other than the top one, are in the shadowed folds of the ruffle. Got to replay the 360, I don`t remember the broach being there. I like the broach placement... it looks like it helps complete the ruffled collar and lends an appealing asymmetry. (I can just imagine my DH or DSs reading over my shoulder and shaking their heads in complete mystified astonishment, ha!)

It`s the top one, Les. It`s bigger.
