Look at that grin on Day`s face, she`s having a blast, feelin` cool in her sweater. And poor Sug, this is NOT what she had in mind when you told her you`d make her a star!

Thanks-that`s an old picture of DGD-I just had no other green gear that you hadn`t seen...I posted this sweater when I first made it, a year and a half ago!

Suggy was SO mortified, I embarrassed her! Poor thing.

What a wonderful pic of you! LOL I love it! Now all we have to do is to teach that dog to use the camera and we will be all set!

How is knit night at the coffee shop going? I have been thinking of you when I go to knit night at the library!

Betsy, Betsy, Betsy, when I said we needed another picture of you, this was NOT what I meant, LOL! Although I think between this and the picture of your hands making a heart that you sent to Tim, you deserve billing as the site`s contortionist!!!

Your irreverence is refreshing... you crack me up, girl! I love it!

And BTW, I can see that those points would normally drape nicely over each arm, what a stunning shawl to wear down along the river walk some night! Very Classy!

Bets, Lovely picture of you; I see you have a photographic memory and a great square head! Oh, almost forgot, the scarf is handsome. Really a big thanks for modeling! Happy week, Jamie

Dear Bets, I have been looking at the shawl you posted for a couple days now. I really love the color of the yarn (what is spray on color and how does one go about getting some?) and what you did with it. Is crochet really that easy? I`ve got a stash that needs to be knit through, pronto. Way to make lemonade out of lemons! Bri

Bri--

If you want, I will MAIL you some of that yarn (sneaky me!!!!) E-mail me please.

The spray on color was something I picked up in the fabric painting section of Hobby Lobby. Like I said, I would not "adjust" expensive yarn with it, but this stuff was a gift from my dad, and I think dyeing it was a real improvement.

I knew how to crochet before I could knit, but I do think that if you knit continental, crocheting is almost natural. The hand movement is very similar.

Bri,

I agree with Bets. Crochet is very very natural if you knit continental. I have been crocheting before I started knitting and have crocheted: doiles, afghans, potholders, scarves but I never did a sweater. I reserve sweaters for knitting as I like that fabric better for sweaters. IMHO crocheting is much easier than knitting and it goes faster although now that I`m getting better at knitting, its about the same! LOL

This may sound really dumb, but how do I even know which way I knit? I know whatever way I taught myself and whatever way is easy to also knit left-handed (from when I taught the little ones). For all the stuff I know and the books I have, I have NO idea! LOL!

The socks for DH are not in fair isle. Its the green Kroy and a Kroy Patons pattern (very easy)

The Fair Isle is for me.... Its the Color Your Own by Philosophers Wool in their book. A friend at knit night is lending me the book. I`m using HW instead of the PW yarn (mostly cuz that is what I had and need to destash).... the colors are: teal, antique blue, dark indigo heather, mid indigo heather, and forest glade heather. The main color is the dk indigo heather and the rest are for the fair isle patterns.

I`ll have to post a pic. I finished both sleeves and tonight I`m gonna cast on the body.
