Is there a list of errata anywhere for this shawl? I am finding several errors in the pattern and am struggling somewhat. In rows 21 and 22, I was able to clear up the problem by comparing the downloadable pdf to the chart in the body of the pattern. The two are different and the one in the body of the pattern seemed correct in this case. However, I am now stuck on row 29 where there is an extra stitch. Is there anywhere I can link to for the errata?
Thanks,
Christine

I looked on Ravelry to see if there was anyone there mentioning errors, and saw a couple of posts. Are you on Ravelry? If so, contact zoorockgirl, she seems to be correcting errors as she comes to them. I found the following info in her notes on the pattern:

I dealt with the row 3 pattern problem (adjoining yos with no special instructions) by adding a knit stitch between pattern repeats.

That HELPS, however, once you get to 21, and 35, another problem crops up. Oddly the pdf is different to the picture of the chart shown on the elann website. I printed out both, and then changed the pdf to look like the picture, which makes the stitches come out evenly. SO, on row 21, I added a k2tog between the second YO and the third. That evens out the stitch count. On row 35 and 37, I put a k2tog between the first and second yos. That seems to work, but I’ll keep everyone posted!

oops, row 45 is actually fine if you count correctly.

------------
Hope this helps.

Maybe the people at elann can contact Dee Smith, who wrote the pattern. I can`t find any contact info for her.

Dear Christine,

we correct all of our patterns as we find errata. Let me take some time to review this pattern to see if I can help you with row 29.

Thank you for alerting me to the differences between the pdf chart and the chart in the body of the pattern, we will try and get that corrected as soon as possible.

Best wishes,
Angela

I am making the "rambling Leaves Shawl" http://elann.com/ShowFreePattern.asp?Id=151024" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://elann.com/ShowFreePattern.asp?Id=151024
For my Dayghter`s wedding. She is getting married 23 AUG in Pt.Pleasant Park Halifax. It`s always windy out on the point and I want this shawl for her to wear. The " Leaves" remind us of wheat stalks so it ties back to the farm for her. I must be doing something wrong or have mis-read the chart. Here is my difficulty.
Rows 1 to 19 work up fine (after 30 tries) in row 19 there are 19 stitches in each repeat. BUT with row 21 there are only 18 stitches used to knit with!

Row 19 Repeat is
k12, make 1 between, yo, k in back, yo, k 2 tog, k2
Which makes 19 stitches

Row 21 repeat is
k14, yo, k in back, yo ,k1, yo, k2
which makes 21 stitches BUT ONLY REQUIRES 18 stitches to DO!!

Please have a look at the pattern and sell me what to do. Pattern is found at

Hmm, yes you`re right. On ravelry one person posted that the pdf chart is different from the one on the page and that she did a k2tog between the 2nd and 3rd YOs to make the stitch count come out right. And on rows 35 and 37 she put a k2tog between the 1st and 2nd YOs.

Those are not the only errors in the chart and apparently they`re going to redo it, but haven`t yet. You might try emailing elann and asking for the corrections.
I have contacted Elann but no response yet (they haven`t had time) but I want to get going again quickly so if anyone can help I`d appreciate it.

Hi Donna,

I`m very sorry you`ve been kept waiting for help on this. I`m also sorry that there have been several revisions to the pattern since it first appeared, and that after one of the revisions, the .pdf of the chart and the chart as it appeared on the printed page did not agree.

To help solve all this, I re-knit the entire shawl to proof the pattern again, and I have made some revisions to both the chart and the written instructions for both the Canapone and Baby Silk versions of the pattern. These are now showing at the website. In addition to the original chart, I made 2 appendix charts - the first is an enlargement of the central motif, and the second is an enlargement of the edge motif.

I`ve put a note on the enlargement of the central motif, that I hope will help everyone with the first 97 rows – for rows 1 to 97, the number of sts per section is equal to the row number – e.g. as you`ve discovered, after knitting row 19, you will have 19 sts in each section. Row 21 begins with 19 sts and results in 21.

Be sure to let me know if you find any problems with the revised chart and instructions.
