Remember I said I was turning DS`s former bedroom into a yarn room? It`s all done, and I love it! Wish I could show you all in person. When the light is good, I`ll take some pix and blog about it.
It`s not a big room, so I`ve made good use of vertical space with skinny shelves and cupboards, etc. It looks just like a mini yarn shop.
A bookshelf unit has stacks of colorful yarns in their bags of ten (part of my to-dye stock), along with knitting books and a shelf stuffed with handspun yarns.
I have a CD unit with all the little cubbies stuffed full of yarns and handspuns. There is a tall skinny cabinet also full of yarn. I have big IKEA hooks high up on the wall with skeined yarn ready to dye hanging in big clumps.
DS had a clothesline along the upper part of one wall, and it has all these little clips. It was for hanging his art. Now I have cards and some of my paintings and bright colorful skeins of hand spun hanging there.
Baskets full of yarn, my acrylic paintings on the walls, a low shelf with candles, beading supplies, a place to park a cup of coffee.
A stack of bins, and in the closet, my personal stash bins and all my mailing supplies.
Best of all, a comfy chair in the corner for me to sit and knit, and a big comfy bean-bag chair for a visitor (DD, usually, or DS, or even DH) to come and lounge and hang out.
Sigh...

Sounds blissful to me! Glad to hear from you.. I thought of you the other day, while I was working to the grindstone and missing my knitting, I wondered if you were finding time to knit while making yarny goods.

i just got your update as I scrolled down the list. its obvious others have been thinking of you too!
I`m going to try and manage my time a bit better.. and that includes shutting down the puter for some knitting time. ;) UFOs are out of the dark this week and being aired out for observation. I have 5 objects waiting for movement. I have to figure out where I left off!

Jayne, that sounds like a happy room, fun to have your own space, too.

A chic living in Paradise....that is what you have described. Hope you don`t have a TV or phone in the room to spoil the atmosphere.
