Am I the last one here waiting for a Ravelry invite? I signe dup on Sept 18 and there were 19,581 people ahead of me. We are now down to a mere 11,537 people ahead of me. By my calculations, I should get the invite on the 24th or 25th of this month if things keep going at a steady pace.
I have no idea why I bothered to figure this out, but I am very proud of my improved math skills...

No. There are fewer than 1,000 people between me and my invite. Finally, and I signed up on 2 August. I expect to get it within the week.

I signed up in Sept 18th too T! Great minds... get sidetracked and don;t sign up for a couple of months after everyone else has....
I`m kind of dreading getting an invite to be honest, as everyone says it`s like a vortex that sucks you in and you never get out again.

LOL - I know the feeling. Even though I said outloud that it didn`t matter when I got in, I was keep track and checking every couple of days and writing down the numbers to see how fast invitations were going out so I could anticipate my own invitation`s arrival.
Now that they`re on the new servers invites are flying out the door, so you may get in even sooner than you think.
Good luck! See you when you`re there!

I`ve been in for a few weeks and while it `could` be a big time suck, it doesn`t have to be. I mainly use it to browse patterns and yarns and see what others have done with a pattern. I haven`t posted anything and don`t know if I will, but I like seeing other`s projects and things I want to make.

No, T, I am the last one. I don`t even bother checking where I am at anymore - I`ll just wait for the invite.

And your ID would be...???
I figure I need to post things (but what I`ve put up took me 2 evenings) because the only way it will work is if people post their work. But it`s clear that my taste differs considerably from the mainstream! Several of my patterns were added by me, and my Aster is being used as the "example" for the pattern. I haven`t put up any of my plain vanilla projects, nor my stash -- the stash would embarrass me!

Amy, I`m feathersong. I will post finished objects one of these days but like you, my stash is not seeing the light of day for the same reasons! ;-}

I`m 1000 in line. The server keeps expanding, so no doubt we`ll all be invited before too long. I dont think it matters whether Im 1000 in line or 20,000. Its a matter of a server that can accommodate the demand.
I`m looking forward to getting in.
Are you in, you the one in Knitting Channel?

I signed up, but don`t remember when, didn`t make a note of it, haven`t heard anything yet, haven`t had time to go check in and see where i am in the waiting line, didn`t even know you could do that, probably still won`t check, as it won`t have any effect on anything. But no, you aren`t the last, T... not by a long shot, probably. I still think the whole waitin line to be added thing is really, I mean REALLY weird.

It`s really just a way for them to keep a close watch on the server as people join. Letting everyone in at once (and it seems almost every knitter in the world who is online wants to join Ravelry) might have caused a massive server crash (for them). I thought the waiting in line was odd until I realized there are only two people running the show. That`s a lot of work. But the waiting is killer, I have to admit.

WHEEEE!
I am 165 in line! I imagine I`ll be in by tmw. To think that two days ago I was over 1000 in line.
Y`All still waiting will be in very fast. Lets hope the server survives like the great millenium did.
