I`m focusing every spare minute on two quilts that I need to have done by the end of next week, but I still need something simple on the needles for when I`m in the car, waiting somewhere, reading posts or watching tv with hubby at night, so I took my new Baros that I bought with the Tapestry and cast on Monica from Knitty for my niece. I`m doing it in the round so I don`t have to pay any attention for 10 inches of stockinette and it`s working out great. I`m nearly 3/4 done. The only problem: it looks too big and I fear I may end up ripping the entire thing, but for now it`s serving its purpose and I`ll just keep knitting.

I love reading what people are knitting. It often introduces me to new patterns and ideas. =)

No B-ball fans here, though DH does watch some during the last couple of rounds of the playoffs, when there are few enough teams for it to seem like a playoff. It catches my attention from time to time, though not for long.

Currently I`m working down the foot of sock #2 for DH. When I`ve done that, I`ll seam the EZ Ribwarmer. Poor Ribby Cardi - I went to a huge fabric store yesterday to look for a zipper. That`s pretty much what I found - zip, at least in the way of anything other than your basic skirt/dress zippers. Their separating zippers came in 24in and in about 7 colors - white, black, navy, red, etc. Guess I`m headed for the Internet for a decent color selection.

ooooh, I love to watch sports on TV and knit!
Currently on sleeves of easy rolled edge pullover in Melody yarn for DD,
playing with the Tapestry colors I bought, and REALLY wanting to begin a Zara sweater to learn the E. Zimmermann techniques while watching her Knitting Workshop dvd.
But, it`s in the 70`s to 80 F`s here-- so my wool knitting obsession in starting to die---

I`m working away on my Sante Fe jacket in the woven stitch. I`ve almost finished the back.

I am hoping to get back to an old Sasha Kagan Leaf Jacket that has been on needles for five or six years or longer! It was before I learned to weave in my ends as I knit so that was a very long time ago. The back is finished and the fronts and sleeves await me.

Basketball pre-empts my stories, so I am a bit perturbed but that aside, I will pop in an old movie and knit away the afternoons. Its in the 70`s here but they are predicting up to a foot of snow tomorrow into saturday, now we have had at the most 3" all winter.

On the Needles is the Lacy Prairie Shawl in that Joslyn Fiber Farm yarn that bleeds all over my hands, it just didn`t want to be Gothic Leaf Lace, I finished the Flower Basket Shawl yesterday and Printed out the Garn shawl this morning. I will visit my stash and see what yarn the Garn wants to be made from I rarely use black for shawls and I have lots of Estelle Silk in Black so maybe that will work (with shawls I don`t get nuts about gauge)

I follow March madness but don`t watch all the games. I`ve got to root for those fabulous Tennessee women and Vanderbilt and Tennessee men. GO VANDY!

On the needles? Call me crazy, I`ve just finished the first chart of Swallowtail Shawl in elann`s Canapone (100% hemp, 24st/4", ecru) and I like it very much so far. It`s not as easy as knitting with elann`s BS or BC (baby silk or baby cashmere) but it`s not bad. I`m using my new addi lace needles (size US 5) and I LOVE them! I`ll see how it looks on the next chart and decide whether to go forward. or switch to BC or BS. I was going to finish a WIP (work in progress) but I decided to give myself a treat. :-}

No B-b TV sports fans here but strangely enough given the stature inherited from me, it is the DSs favorite sport to play. Still working on top-down summer cardigan, about to pause at ball change on the body and switch to sleeves. Starting to wonder what kind of finish to do for it (ribbing, no-curl purl & BO, or crochet), and buttons or not? If I were taking Deborah Newton`s advice, I would have already figured it out on my swatch!

Hi Bri, Nice to see you here more often.
I`m not knitting much lately, but I have an experimental scarf project on my loom and another warp prepared for the next project. I just bought the Millefili for use as weft for some projects, so I`m going to try to be weaving for the next while.

I also have at least one spinning project going all the time.
Happy handwork to all, Jamie

Well, Ml`s stole - the long term...
and the mer-boy I keep forgetting to mention who has most of a lower half, and most of an upper half, but needs half a head and shoulders, a couple of fins and sewing...

And a few bookmarks...

Actually my next project is a DS project, he is going to be doing it, I am just hands. The socks were really his, too. He designed, I am the hired help.(you know, I really like being his hired help...)

I am plodding thru an uninspired Baby Surprise in washable merino acrylic. Nothing is really catching my eye (no jokes, Petey)

How about you?

Well, merboy, and ML`s stole, and swatches, and deep thoughts about what color to make Wren, now that Mama Lorraine has told me to just cough it up and buy yarn instead of trying to find the ugly stuff in the basement. Well, actually, just to stop being cheap and get the yarn. (The weirdness of yarn I will buy and yarn I won`t is discussed in more detail at spindlewand.livejournal.com)

I am loving the swatch, btw - more to come on that...

Finishing up my Snap Cardigan today. Then on to a knitted strip that will be part of a communal wedding present blanket. I am making the Irish Hiking Scarf for my portion. Still mulling over what to make with my Tapestry. I am leaning towards a top down raglan cardigan a la Barbara Walker`s book.

Feather and Fan wrap more like a mantilla, in Mohair, moonlight mohair and silk, and the estonian scarf that is giving me much pain!

Oh, mix your stitch patterns a little in that, Cate, so you don`t have big stripes!!!

Swallowtail. I`m ready to start the first border chart. Thank goodness I came to my senses and decided not to make it a full-size shawl in Canapone. I could see it as full-sized in BS or BC or a lovely handpainted yarn.

Well I`m finishing up a sweater for myself, a jacket for a friend and just started a Lady E. I should be working on my friends jacket.... but Lady E in SWS has me in her spell. I just can`t wait to see what the next tier of colour will look like:-)
