Does anyone remember this yarn? Seems elann carried some time ago. It also seems to be from the mid-90`s.

I found and liberated ten balls from Valu-Village today. It`s a bulky weight (same weight/composition as Shetland Chunky). Big 100 gram balls with great yardage.

Unlike Shetland Chunky, it is spun in a single strand, so it has that less processed look. I got mine in a dark espresso brown. Whoo-hoo!!

So...does anyone know this yarn?

There was a year I worked in a crafts store...I think it was 93-94 or so. They had this yarn. I don`t recall if she had to adjust guage, but one of the managers used it to sub for Lopi. I think I had one ball of it somewhere....

I got quite a bit, so I`m going to test drive it on some chunky, around-the-house socks for DS.

Hi Jayne,

Although Elann did not carry Patons Norspun, we have the following info about this yarn in our Yarn Info Finder: it had a gauge of 15 st/4", suggested needle size of 6.0 mm (US 10), and contained 150 m (164 yards) per 100g (3.5 oz) hank.
