Have any of you made this top from this site? I`m wondering if you encountered any problems.
Thanks.

If you run into trouble, I`m sure someone here could help. I haven`t made this specific pattern, but have made others from this site with no problems.

Thank you for your reply. I was more questioning whether there are any known errors in the pattern itself. I just wish I could see a pic of it finished and modeled by a live person rather than a mannequin. <g>

Are you talking about one of Michelle`s top downs? I went looking for the pattern, and it`s not shown currently, but I think that`s what you mean. I have made a few incorporating lace patterns, and think

1) You need to decide if you want it to fit you closely. Mine was knit in a stretchy yarn, so only a little ease was fine.

2) By all means, swatch the lace before hand, and do a little math-this way you will know if your front and back will show an even or odd number of repeats. This is CRITICAL and will save you tears.

(man, I hope I am talking about the type of top you mean....!) ;-) A lot of us have done top downs and will be glad to help you!

Yes, it is a top down pattern by Michelle. It`s not on the site anymore but I googled and got this page.(I had the pattern saved on my computer.) http://www.elann.com/ShowFreePattern.asp?Id=106024
The pattern calls for cotton yarn and I`ve seen several other lace top patterns calling for cotton yarn. I wonder if there is a reason for using cotton as opposed to a more stretchy yarn? I really don`t like knitting with cotton. But I am "playing" with the pattern now, knitting it with stash yarn to see if I run into problems. I will have to do some altering because the bust size is 38.5" and I am a couple inches smaller than that. And I don`t want a big ol` baggy top.

Oh sorry. It isn`t on elann anymore but I googled and came up with this link which appears to work. This is the top I`m referring to.

>>You must be an accomplished knitter!<<

Well, not as much as I thought. LOL. After spending all day futzing with this pattern...I admit defeat. I emailed elann customer service to ask if there were any known errors and they responded that there were not. And that it was for experienced/adventurous intermediate knitters. Ummmmm. Ok. Obviously not me. I just think it`s so pretty that I`ll probably play around with it for awhile more.
