Benne:Thank you for swatching the millefili fine for me. I ordered the color wine as you suggested. It is really pretty on the screen. I also order the sonata - angle blue (MacChick said it is strong like steel). Believe me or not, I also ordered White bufffalo 3 stranded one, since you said that how soft it is. I can not resist not to order.
Now, Benne, tell me what is next?

I finished the felted hat it is drying right now.I read somewhere someone said put a lid on. What is that means? What is that to do with the hat and how?

PS: I use bag wool, 2 1/2 balls, hand felted, very quick. I love bag wool.

Hi SK. I think that the "lid" is someone trying to be funny or cute. A "lid" is or was slang for a hat. Probably in the 1940`s or sometime long ago!
I`ve been dreaming of pulling out my bag wool and making another since you mentioned the hat! I have been trying to be good and not start yet another project until I finish the 3 scarves, a sweater and hat I have on my needles! (shhh, those other things on those other needles don`t count in this conversation)!

Les: I have 3 different pattern for felted hat. each one is slightly different but the basic is the same. I modified mine into a hybrid. It is so cute and so fit. I wish I have red hot color bag wool to make one for myself. SK

No Emily, what`s nuts is that Benne and I bought the same yarns in 1986 or so, I raved about it, she sent me some. Later, I found some in a color for Bri, and as it turns out, BOTH Daryl and T bought the same yarn too.
THAT`S NUTS.

Bets: these are good wool. I felted one for mother yesterday, one for BB this morning. My sister`s is still on the needle. I will felt it tonight. It really takes couple hours to knit that hat, good fast project and cute. SK

SK, which pattern are you using? I checked my records, I did not buy red, I only got raspberry, which means that our friend Benne bought all the red.
Is your hat pattern suitable for a young man in the city? I need a project for my younger brother!

Bets: it is chicknit`s bucket hat. I modified the needle size for the brim (so it gets a little bit wider) and the crown shaping is modified also. I don`t know whether all this are necessary or not. I am please with mine. I am blocking my sister`s one right now. SK
