Okay, I was feeling pretty good that I finally finished one simple cabled mitt tonight. I submitted a scan of one lone unblock mitt. It only took me 3 days. ;-} So, I checked Eunny`s blog. And what do I see but the most amazing mitts and the free pattern. Take a look.

I am going to check it out - looks good! I was thinking.... when this cold weather hit, my hands started to really hurt bad. These would keep the hands warm and still allow me to knit and do what-ever!

Benne- you fingerless cabled mitt is gorgeous! I love, love , love it! Looks perfect! so pretty in the red too! I`m dealing with dial up since the wind has done something to the tower for the DSL and I can only get a few inches of Eunny`s pic before the page thinks it`s done!! Grrr! Oh, this is funny - my friend brought her frozen food over for us to keep for her and phoned half an hour later to say that her power is back on!! (she had even commented that that would probably happen! Murphy`s Law and all that!) Les

I love yours, I am now afraid to look at Eunny`s. OK, I have looked at Eunny`s and they don`t make me say, "I think I`ll knit that" like yours do. But they do give me an idea what to do with the one skein of Lorna`s Laces Black Purl sock yarn I have after I lost my whole sock bag and sock in progress last spring --- get a ball of solid sock yarn and knit that pattern in socks.

I like yours, Benne-very dashing! I like Eunny`s too, but that teensy gauge is NOT a quick knit for me!

>>skein of Lorna`s Laces Black Purl sock yarn <<
Amy, I have 2 sks of the Black Purl in sportweight and am doing the Mac & Me ruffle head wrap with it.
Great job, Benne! The cabling just bumps the whole diea up a notch.

Thank you all. I was so excited to finish something I couldn`t wait for blocking before posting. ;-} This is a really easy pattern, even the thumb gusset was easy for me. I made the thumb a little longer and added one row of ribbing at the fingers so the mitt would be a little longer. The mitt comes about 3.5-4" above the wrist. The pattern calls for Aran weight yarn but my hands are small so it worked out fine with the worsted HW. After all of my griping about the Holiday IK being a retread, I think it`s funny that I found a pattern to knit from it. I like Eunny`s because the color pattern intrigues me. She said it was dead simple. I would be a good test of that premise. ;-}

Hey Benne! I think I`d have to agree with Cate: your mitt causes me to think about doing something like this myself. Although pretty, I`d never consider doing Eunny`s mitts. With your mitt(s?) I like the pattern details and the more rugged "outdoorsy" appearance; I LOVE the color and the way it shows the cable definition! Yup, very tempting!
AND, I`m glad to see that you`re shakin` a little yarn off the pins!!! Must be a sign that you`re feeling a bit more on top of your game?!

Benne, your mitt is fabulous! Makes me want to start one right away, as if I don`t have way too many WIPs already!

Although Eunny`s is beautiful, I wouldn`t knit one in a million years because you would have to check me into the nuthouse.
Benne`s, however, looks lovely and do-able.

Libs, these are for me. They`re part of my "Knit for me" campaign. ;-} I`m glad you all liked them, a little knitting with a big payoff for me. I think I may have my cables closer together than on the pattern. Or maybe not, I`m bad about ticking off my finished rows.
If Eunny`s mitts have all you excellent knitters thinking they`d drive you nuts, there`s no hope for me with them. ;-}

I love your mitt, Benne, way to forge ahead! And it`s the perfect for-you project (very fitting). Something loving for your hands, even though they give you grief.
Like everyone else, I take one look at this and want some for myself. Very nice work!
