After an egg-citing Monday, my second grade class is the proud `parent` of 7 baby chicks!
Yesterday, also was exciting since my handpainted merino lace wool finally came. What a surprise. Not having worked with this type yarn before, I was so surprised to see such a small package! Wound it into a ball last night and will start playing with it when I get home. There have been all kind of surprises lately. Bought a Bed in a Bag this week-end and when I got it home and opened it, it was missing the sheet set, the shams and the bed skirt! Surprise! Wonder if someone bought it, took out the goodies and put only the comforter back and returned it???

Haha, Jayne! Kind of like a January white sale??? Cheryl, your kiddos must be thrilled with the chicks. That is always so much fun - just wonderous. How do you like the merino laceweight? What color is it? Gosh, there wasn`t much left in that bag, was there?

Do you like the handpaint? I`ve been eying some. The laceweight doesn`t take up much room does it? I bought a skein of laceweight this weekend and 800 m was the size of a skein of Highland wool.

I have all the wool for ML`s stole in a Mason Jar in the closet...
I was picturing 7 chicks running amok IN the yarn, so was somewhat relieved to see that these were related more by time than by circumstance...

The chicks are doing fine (except for one - Dr. Parker said it has a problem due to vitamin B deficiency in the mother hen??) anyway, the kids have enjoyed them! The yarn seems very nice - the colors were true to the pictures on their site. Like I said, I have never done any lace knitting, so don`t have anything to compare it to!!! I got one skein of the burgundy and two of Rain Forest. My surprise was how one little, and I mean little skein will make a whole shawl???? When I wound it into a ball, it was only like a base ball, maybe a softball... We will see how it goes. I want to try the Icarus shawl.
