i made this a long time ago with the valeria di roma capri (acrylic/rayon) from here.
i don`t think it turned out huge, per se.
however, at the time, i didn`t even consider the wisdom of substituting wool/mohair with such a slinky yarn.
the lack of springy-ness in the yarn combined with the horizontal ribbing design down the arms does tend to make them stretch out from their own weight, over the course of an evening.
i don`t expect this would happen with barkarole, tho.
and adding the mohair would be your choice, depending on the look you wanted...
