I like shawl a lot. I`m thinking of making one on a smaller scale as a teacher`s gift. Do you think it would work in highland silk? Devon? Or should I just stick to Kiri? Hmmm.

If you want a smaller shawl, I`d go with Kiri. In HS, I`d go with Kiri for sure, because this thing came out as a full body shawl, and my yarn was a sport weight!!

Great shawl, Bets, and I really appreciate the tips about sizing. I`ve seen Knittess`s Swallowtail (http://knittess.blogspot.com/), which she did in one of Kaalund`s laceweights, and it is gorgeous, but much smaller than yours.

Dearie, I think you have to give up the "lace challenged" title to someone else now....

I`m doing one in Kid Silk Haze and it is turning out MUCH smaller. I think the upcoming mohair would be perfect for it.

Excellent lacework, Bets. Looking at your shawl is making my fingers itch to start another one myself!
BTW, Thanks to you and everyone else for steering me (a hundred years ago!) in the direction of the kiri for my first lace shawl pattern; I`m wearing it LOTS!

What T said! Too mcuh of your lace stuff comes out too great for you to still cling to that old title (which never fit even when you were doing the Ostrich Plumes anyway!)
