I`m very happen to see this project on Elann`s homepage. --- I emailed Helen last week when I saw this pattern (in another yarn) on her web site to buy it. (It`s not in her book) She replied that she had sold `many` patterns to Elann. So, it looks like if I buy some Elann Sierra Aran, I may get the pattern as a bonus!
But, wait, I thought I was done buying yarn forever after I purchased all that Elann Baby Cashmere --- Guess I`ll have to disappoint myself and go back on my word!

`done buying yarn forever` ROFL!! Girlfriend, that might happen if you never clicked on elann.com again, which isn`t likely to happen.

Trish, I also love the shape of that jacket but it looks like seed st to me and a gazzillion seed st reps is daunting to my little fingers. Also, you will have to break your word big time bc it looks like you need to buy 27 skeins to get the pattern. (Guess that`s the requirement.) That`s a lotta spit needed. <g>

Yes, you`re right in all respects.
I haven`t actually seen the pattern yet, Joan, but I am planning to slim that pattern down significantly. I LOVE long sleeves, but don`t need sleeves the size of small blankets... It`s very loose and may well adapt to my novice attempt to adjust it.
Yep, doing all those skeins worth of seed stitch is not on my instantly-gratifying list, either-- I could play with the texture by using another all-over stitch from the vogue knitting book series- - - The patterns certainly much more interesting because of the texture, IMO.
And finally, yeah, I DID break my yarn-abstinence promise big time.
Thanks for your comments! Trish BCG
