I made an enormous version of this shawl in Plymouth Outback mohair for my DD when she was in university. She wrapped herself up in it, cocoon-like to study - comforting. It was very quick, and I just kept going until I used up the yarn.

SK, your shawl is lovely, as is all your work. You are always so creative with the yarns you use! Be sure to tell us all about the family knitting party and how it went.

Barbara: my TX niece brought along her Austermann Samoa Color (the one she calls it random balls) to make herself a scarf. My mother falls in love with that soft soft random balls, too. I ordered some to make my mother a scarf for her birthday. My mother taught the girls yo, k2tog... so I think they are advanced from garter to lace knitting. SK
