I`ve been very quiet this past week or so and I wanted to tell you why I haven`t replied to any emails or posted. My dear friend ,Marge, who I asked to adopt me eighteen years ago is very ill. Marge was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this past week. I posted a pic of her wearing a pink alpaca shawl I made her for Christmas a couple of years ago. Remember her sweet smile? Marge took on her role as my "adoptive Mom" very seriously and we are very close. I have been blessed by knowing her. I`m going to miss her very much and wish she could be spared the painful days that lie ahead. Maybe one day this terrible disease will be conquered.

Benne, I am so sorry. I was just thinking of you this morning and worrying that something was going on. I remember the glowing smile of pride on Marge`s face as she modelled the shawl. It is so hard to sit helplessly while those we love suffer and realize that every day with which they grace us further is at such a cost to them. We are sending both of you positive loving support and hope that this time goes as easily as possible. Daryl

Hey there Benne,
I just tried to email you privately but it was bounced back from mindspring.
Prayers are flinging their way across the Atlantic for you and your dear friend. I`m so sorry you are going through this pain. A good friend`s mother is also going through this same horrible thing. Her mother has been ill for a year and they just found more cancer. What a blow.
Wish I could be there to give you a big hug.

I know you will help Marge a lot in the next few months. It will be a great comfort for her to open her eyes and see her "adoptive daughter" sitting there. And even tho it will be painful for both of you, hearing your familiar voice while she`s dozing in and out will make her journey easier.

Aww, Benne, I am so sorry to hear about Marge. I remember our conversation about her on SSI and how much you admired her. I know that you will be good company for her - she`s lucky to have such a good "daughter/friend". It really is a bummer. Look after yourself.

Benne, I am so sorry about your friend Marge. I understand a little of what you must be feeling because back in March, my "adoptive" Mom suffered a serious stroke. I know you will be there for Marge as she has been there for you for so many years. We will all be thinking of you both.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and thoughts for Marge and me. Nothing would please her more than to know a bunch of wonderful women are praying for her and thinking of her, and that I have such wonderful, caring friends here.
Calamintha, I`m sorry about your "mom." It`s difficult to see our loved ones suffer. I hope she improves and you have more time with her.
My new email addy is benneferrell at thom2 dot com (just leave out the spaces.) I meant to send my new email addy out and didn`t get very far with that.
Thank you again, you all helped me through those terrible days when my brother died and I`ll always be grateful for your care, then and now.
