anyone knows how to put stitches in holder, and then back top the needle without holes on the work?

Hi! I sometimes use a length of scrap yarn instead of a metal holder. It seems to keep the stitches from loosening up on the ends of the holder, especially if there are a bunch of them. I think the metal holders pull the end stitches out of shape if the stitches are on the holder for a long time too. When putting stitches on a holder and back on the needle it is important that they oriented in the right direction for knitting and not twisted. Hope this helps and answers your question. Benne

If you have a number of stitches, try putting them onto a smaller-sized circular needle and put rubber stoppers onthe ends. Then you can just knit them off that needle when you need them. For a few stitches, try Benne`s suggestion.
