Could someone please explain: "On foll row drop extra yo=s" The previous instruction is "K next row with double yo for each st." (this I understand–I just don`t get yo=s). Thank you. NJane

On the return row, you have two loops on the needle at each stitch. You are going to knit in the stitch, and let the excess fall off. YO=s looks like a translation typo.

Hi,
In the Summer Pullover for Schoeller Stahl Micro Cable pattern, just ignore the equals sign (=) in yo=s. This should be read as the plural of yo, or yarn-overs.
These 2 rows of instructions, which were translated from German into English by Schoeller Stahl, are a little confusing. I test-knitted this sequence yesterday and found that making 2 YOs before each stitch, and then letting both of them drop when knitting the next row, created a large and droopy open effect.
A customer sent us the following recommendation, which she learned at her LYS - wrap the yarn twice on every knit stitch, instead of doing 2 yarn-overs. Then, on the following row, drop the extra wraps. When you finish that row, you should have the original number of stitches on your needle.

Hi Bets,
Thank you for your excellent and clear answer to this question. I guess I was busy writing my response at the time that yours was posted. I did not mean to duplicate you!
Thank you again. Diane

Join us, NJane. This is a great group.
The `yarn over twice` technique the way Bets has explained it is very useful for a lacy look without a lot of work and counting. I`ve just finished a pair of fingerless mitts as a sample for the retreat next week which combined rows of yarn over twice and rows of yarn over three times with rows of beading for the back of the hands - quick, easy, very effective.
