When I checked in this morning, there was no new yarn posted. But now there`s Esprit, which seems to be restocked, although not all the colors are available from the last time (no orchid pink, for example). But I probably never would have thought of making the new pattern with Esprit! Ann, you and your staff just keep coming up with new ideas to keep us challenged!!

Hi CBM, Esprit won`t be re-stocked until the Spring, but since Raynelda of PCL Designs has designed 2 crocheted bikinis for it, I just couldn`t resist featuring her free pattern in our "What`s New?" section.

I agree that the bikini is a great project! Thanks for the info about Esprit. BTW, with making my very first pair of socks made in the Orchid Pink Esprit being so successful, I`m looking forward to making several more pairs in different colors!!
Do you know if anyone has used the Esprit for chemo caps? If so, is there a particular pattern that works well?

Esprit makes great chemo caps - they are especially popular as night caps because they don`t come off and are very soft. I just adapted a simple pattern and made it so it stopped at the top of the ears. Cate

I made one in the round with the black/white/grey Esprit. It sounds like yours, Cate. Just a simple stockinette with a narrow rib band. I gave it to Ann when she came to SS. I wanted to see what she thought about it as a chemo cap before I made more to send her way. She said she thought it worked very well. Benne

I made a baby cap for Jonathan-T says he looks fabulous in it! It was really soft-nice stuff!

Bets, you beat me to it - I was going to blow your horn on that one! Jonathan seems to like his little hat, which is not true of other hats he has, and he wore it all day long when we went to the Medieval Fair. It is perfectly normal for little babies not to have much hair, so I don`t make him wear it in the house, even though my little baldy-bean looks adorable in it... Theresa

I`m using Esprit for my Hopeful sweater. You can check it out on my blog. This yarn is PERFECT for this pattern. I normally wear a size 8-10 and I did the next largest size. Probably could have gone up one more size, but the elasticity of the yarn is perfect.
