Yes Bets, I love your picture, I can see the gleam of humor in your eyes. You are the witty one! You`re going to have to produce your driver`s license to convine me you`re 44. Your sense of humor is keeping you young, and us too reading your posts. :} Benne

Thanks you guys...notice how I very carefully cropped that expanding waistline RIGHT OUT of that picture??? Tres clever.
My husband`s aunt has this thing in her family called "Cousin Day" where all the women get together and do crafts and scarf goodies. I want to do that. Since y`all are cousins I actually talk to, I think we should have a cousin day!

Hey a girl does what a girl has to do! At my advanced age (:) I`ve found subterfuge is my perogative.
Yes, yes, yes to the cousin day. As a Southerner we lay claim as kin to anybody who has ever been in our state, tasted moonshine or heard of Andrew Jackson. So there, I know everybody out there is my cousin. lol Benne

Oh, did you read in the news yesterday that the governor of West Virginia is MAD because of the new Abercrombie T-shirts..."West Virginia, it`s all relative?" Whew, I hated them after the "Two Wongs make it White" Chinese Laundry T-shirts, but they are working pretty hard to be obnoxious....fortunately, DD walked in and decided they were stupidly expensive...they were great until she had to start buying her own clothes. I took her grandmother in there, and she took one look at the posters of half-naked people dog-piled together and was shocked, so I announced to the whole family that Grandma is boycotting AF. We all had a laugh, but now this household is over them all together.

Yes, Bets, I saw that news report. When I saw the shirt I was boiling mad. I wouldn`t use that shirt to polish my car. Or any other shirt they make. I remember the Chinese shirt. I could not figure out what they were trying to accomplish. Racism and prejudice are always ugly, no matter the form. I guess they figure the more offensive they are, the more junk they`ll sell. AF has been offending me for years and I have not stepped foot in their stores in at least ten years. I guess we`re not their target shopper Bets. Thank God. Good for Grandma setting a precedent and good for DD- buying her own clothes and recognizing a poor value. Family unity is a great thing.
I think it`s time for me to rip off another scathing email. I fired one off to HBO after watching 5 minutes (and turning off) of "Deadwood" Sunday night. I am not a prude but there was so much gratuitous filthy language that DH and I both were totally disgusted. Some things are just bad form and there`s a lot of that out there these days. Okay, I`ve had my morning vent, back to the important stuff, like knitting and finding that book for MacChick.:} Benne

sorry Bets, but I laughed at your post about "those people" in your house and the dishes problem after you`d been out ALL day! same thing happened here, not so long ago and I went into a great rant! I think that the dishwasher was even empty! My standards aren`t even very high! (when I get into cleaning mode, the kids ask who is coming over!!) good luck! Les

Oh, oldest KNEW I was mad-then I told her that I fired the maid, and I had had it. I also said that I understood it was her job to clean the bathroom, so I was going to clean the kitchen with the same frequency. Tired of....ah, you know the rant.
I am one of the sloppiest people I know, but there ARE basic health and welfare standards. Like-the dishwasher is RIGHT next to the sink, lean your "this shirt makes me look fat" self over...wipe up spills-EASY stuff. Don`t punish me for being a slob by being a worse slob, because we are NEVER gonna catch up THAT way.
So far, not too bad. I say, let`s just quit buying groceries. That would be the simple route. Maybe they`ll leave, or at least leave us alone! B

It was disgustingly easy. Fun, tho.
I have enough to make her another one, but my MIL liked the yarn, so SHE will get an accessory.

P.S. On a side note. I did order the AV book from Herrschners and then after I place the order, I noticed that the ship to addy was to my old apt. It had been 3 almost 4 yrs since I ordered from them. So I`ll be lucky if I get it anytime soon. I contacted them about the mistake and they were very nice about it and are going to fix it as soon as they can.

Very good!
Have you selected an HW to knit it in? What color?

Libby ~ just a word of warning re Herrschner`s. I ordered something from them, and it took 7 weeks to get here. Nothing was backordered, there were no errors in the mailing address. No problems. They simply didn`t get around to mailing it to me until the end of the 6th week. Actual transit time was less than one week. So, don`t look for your book any time soon, I`d say.

I thought I posted about the Uros sweater you posted, but it looks like I didn`t, and I just have to say again... you are amazing!!!! How you turn out such perfect stuff so fast is beyond belief! You MUST have Marion`s knitting elves at your place now! VERY pretty sweater! When DGD is a Mom herself, she will have a real treasure-trove of knits for her daughter(s)!

Betsy, Betsy, Betsy... 3/4 of a ball will make that little girl a lovely little successory... perhaps a wee little orchid pink bunny to match the sweater... a cute little hat... you know you want to make another accessory... it really spices up the look even more... c`mon, now, admit it, they don`t take much time, either...

Och, bless her wee heart - the wean is just gorgeous! You just want to pick her up and squeeze hard!
Look at the pain on Suggy`s face - the poor thing is mortified, LOL! She`s so expressive.
