It is really a beautiful scarf. Can you post the link to the pattern as I cannot seem to find it. I need to make some fast gifts as this holiday has alreay run away from me! Thanks!

SK, did you slip the first st when doing the garter st? I thought about doing that too late but will do it for future ones. I can`t tell from your photo but I think you might have.

Such a kind gesture, SK. I think the "tables-turned" idea is sweet. In my case, however, it would be sweet revenge!!! Do you have any idea how many horrendously awful crafts my Mom tried to dump on me? (think: ashtray stands made out of winebottles and marbles; crocheted phentex flower petal pillows in the Ugly colorway.) I dodged some of them, but it wasn`t beneath her to stoop to sending one of her crafts home with my roommates...as a gift...which they didn`t have the heart to refuse. The "gifts" were somehow always abandoned when the roommates would move out!

You know, I SHOULD make her a "table`s turned" gift! It`s her 75th birthday next month, and a wine bottle stuffed with plastic flowers would be a hilarious gift that we`d laugh about for a long time. Hmmmmm...

Very pretty, SK. I can picture your mother wearing it. I wish I could see a picture of you as a little girl wearing your scarf. I can imagine how you looked though. :-}

I think this is a really good gift scarf. I`ve got a few friends that would like this scarf and I have lovely colors of HW to match their preferences and coloring. Thanks, SK and Joan!

Billie-

Did you participate in HUGe? Because that would be a nice way to turn tables!

On the other hand, dishcloth angels are always a hit---just ask T! ;-)

No, Bets. Unfortunately, shipping on wine-bottle ashtrays all the way to Texas made it impossible for me to have HUGe fun this year!

SK, What a lovely gift for your mother. I`m sure she will remember you wearing yours. That is a great easy gift to make. Thanks for the idea. Happy cold weather to you!

Oh, Shui Kuen, that is really pretty! And neat that it is for your mother, who made you one when you were little! May tempt me into holiday knitting with the "one-day" easy garter aspect of it :-).
