You need better photo software... tell your DH to get you Photoshop. You will probably both wonder how you ever lived without it!

Hey Bri, If you send it to Benne she`s collecting them all and has to send them on to Shui Kuen anyway. Up to you.
Bradshaw doesn`t realize how good he looks in that color does he? You may not get it back! lol.
Peace, Jean

From what I can tell I really like the shrug pattern. What is it? I have been wanting to make a shrug but haven`t found a pattern that I like.

Dear Jean, Thanks for the update. I`ve been sick and out of the loop since the wknd sometime.
Bradshaw is SO cold. It was 20 this morning here, and he`s been lounging in my wool stash all day. If it wasn`t a present, he surely would still be in that shrug!

Dear Laura, The shrug pattern is from Pam Allen`s Scarf Style book that came out this Sept. Mine is in wool and a slightly larger gauge so that another shirt or even a sweater might be worn beneath it. My best friend visited in November. We looked through the patterns together, and, she was like, how cool is that. It was pretty easy, and boy is it warm- definitely serves its purpose. The only thing I wish I done differently is that I`d left enough time to make one for myself! Bri

Oh great! another knitting book :-) I have been eyeing that book anyway. I have made several gifts this year that I am truely having a hard time give. I made my first felting project out of Noro yarn. I made a beaded scarf out of a railroad yarn from Michaels and I am almost finished with a "flower" scarf that is an adaptation from a Winter Vogue Knitting pattern. One of my first purchases from Elann was a cone of Silk City Valencia in a light green color. When I saw the pattern in VK I thought it was a purfect time to use the yarn. It has worked out well except that I don`t like the color of the yarn for this particular project. I got some Rit dye and now will be dyeing each flower a combination of dark brown, wine, and dusty lavender. I REALLY don`t want to give this away! Oh well, it is the season for giving isn`t it??

I missed your response because my list is only set for 4 days and can it be, I haven`t checked in since the day before Christmas EVE??? I love Awbury and I waitressed one summer at Vally Green. The food there then was awful, but it was beautiful and the people were nice to me. When the girls were little we used to take them to feed the ducks regularly. Unfortunately a few years ago the big floods washed out much of the stream in front of Valley Green and it is no longer the haven for winged ones it was, but they still come for the bread. I missed Meeting again on Sunday, too busy playing with small ones and toys, but I will tell Gay I`ve "met"you and you are knitting beautifully next time I see her. Daryl

Daryl: I keep seeing a painting that is a cat roll like a ball, with a touch of green in it. I just wonder whether I saw that in Gay`s house? Or it is my imagination. Shui Kuen

I don`t know. I haven`t been inside Gay`s house since I was there in high school for a hockey team dinner and before then when we lived in Washington and would come back to visit. Her youngest Emily tried in vain to teach us to play jacks sometime before I was in third grade and we moved back to Philly for good. It is a beautiful rambling house like a rabbit warren to my recollection. I will ask her next time I see her. Daryl

Shui Kuen,
The sock is beautiful, as usual, your knitting is subperb. I have a question about using silk, it seems to me it would be deliciously soft, but how will it wear; better than wool? patw

Patw: Silk is as strong as nylon. Therefore it is stronger than wool alone. This baby silk is as soft as baby alpaca and as shiny as silk, very lovely. Shui Kuen

Thanks for the welcome home party, Daryl. lol. Did you get my email thanking you for the little package that came my way the other day? As soon as this stupid pink eye is gone I`ll be 100% again.

Now that I`ve just bashed socks in an earlier post, let me take a time out to admire your beautiful work! "Boring" and "tedious" (which is what I tend to think when considering sock knitting) do *not* apply when you`re doing socks! I can`t believe how beautiful they are - are these for you, or for someone else??

It is socks like Shui Kuen`s that make me want to make socks. Hers are works of art. Then I remember that everyone I know is incredibly hard on socks. Cate
