Ann`s lovely swatches of the SC Bounce are SOOO tempting me to grab a cone (bluestone? teal?), but I`m getting better at mentally running through all the WIPs and the WIMs for the most recent yarn acquisitions. *Sigh* My thanks to all of you who snapped up the Perle in the first 2 minutes, thereby removing that MAJOR temptation.
I keep looking at the Lara, with all those luscious colors still available, but then I remember that I`ve got 3 top`s-worth of Lara and Sonata that are just waiting to be noticed again.
Don`t forget, I have some HW listed for sale on the Swap Center, including Tranquil Lagoon.
This diet thing is so hard.....

Keep your resolve! You`re doing good. I too am sooo tempted by all this wonderful yarn. But we have to keep looking at all the yarn we still have to knit. I love the Laura and the Sonata, and I have yet to knit up what I bought last year!
So how many projects or # of balls of yarn do we need to use before we can let ourselves buy some "new" yarn? I think we need to have a goal to work towards? patw

Well, let`s see, the most-current WIPs are: The pressie for Teresa`s new baby Jonathan. 4-5 sks baby yarn
The Cafe Cardi that I started in Salt Spring, with the back border done, which I may have to frog entirely. I finished charting the revised/corrected word-by-word directions last night, and there are some small differences. 5 125g sks mercerized cotton
The Flower Basket Shawl, for the Knitalong I `started` before my trip, which I haven`t even swatched. 5 sks Baby Silk
My first sock, at the point of nearly finishing the gussets. 2 sks Esprit
The vest for DH that I was *supposed* to work on at Salt Spring, but abandoned for the cardi. 15 sk HW
We will NOT go into the `older generation` of WIPs, and there`s the fact that I haven`t done a lick of work for my charity group in nearly a month. Guilt city.
In terms of skeins of yarn these certainly do add up!

But dang, girl, you are starting to look so skinny!
Ok, we are going to approach this like we do paying off a charge account----what project can you finish the quickest? The one that`s closest to done?
I am dying to see a photo of it finished, hurry up and get it done so we can fuss over it!!! B

I fell off the diet a bit while on Salt Spring. If you go to the Knitting Forum and look at CBMs Review.... in the OT section, you can get the story.
I stopped on the T gift because I needed brainpower to figure out the division for the sleeves, so once I figure that (tonight??), I can carry it around and get more done. I know, Jonathan is already nearly 2 months old; trust me, he won`t have grown out of this yet!!
The sock will be `mindless knitting` once I get past the gusset, which is just a few more rows, and then it can go back into my tote/purse.
The cardi charts were obsessing me, so I kept after it, and I`m glad that part is done and I can put it aside at a `logical` stopping point - do I or don`t I do the body in one piece, which means do I or don`t I frog the beginning I`ve made.
Tomorrow is charity group, so I can at least get *some* time in for them, besides finishing the 3 baby hats I made on my travels.
And when I get bored with seed stitch on the pressie, I can scope out the charts for the FBS.
So there`s a plan, you see, which unfortunately leaves DH in the lurch again. *sigh*

Sounds like you have a plan. I guess for me, I have a hard time justifying more yarn when I haven`t touched the yarn I bought at Elann last year or last years MD Wool festival. I guess I would need to finish the Aran Pocket Shawl I`m working on, a DNKY lace sweater from Vogue, and a cabled cardi in cotton. I think if I can finish these three projects all WIP`s I can consider a yarn purchase. I`ll keep you posted. patw

Sigh... a couple of years ago, I counted up and had yarn for over 100 sweaters. I did not count sweaters I could make from the leftovers of other sweaters. I did not stop buying yarn. I have worsted weight sweater lots of 100% wool in teal, burnt orange, dark green heather, pink heather, grey, orangy heather, a different grey, scarlet, red and white for an intarsia sweater, Silver Birch, blueberry, ....that is just worsted weight, just the adult sweaters. Forget the other weights, the Wool blends, the cottons, the synthetic/novelty yarns, the mohairs, the chenilles, the lots that are enough for a child`s sweater: forget the sock yarn, the yarn that is just enough for a hat or mittens, the yarn I have spun myself... (Fading into silence, as if I were walking away, muttering to myself...)

Pshhh!
Not me! I must be on a different yarn planet than y`all--I have resisted buying TONS of wool, given my general location!
Mine`s in cottons and rayons and features a lot of multi-colored yarns....(shambling to the shower, muttering to MYSELF!!!)

Thanks so much, T. 100 adult sweaters! OK, you`ve helped me put my pile in perspective. After your posts and my visit to my Vancouver knitting friend, I realize that I simply HAVE to re-arrange my stash; much more sensible by fiber, with the smaller projects bagged within the larger storage containers. Fading away, mind all abuzz with ideas....

Some of my fingernails are beginning to fail me as I try to hold on. I`m repeating the mantra - "There will be more fabulous yarns in 6 months, in a year. There will be more; there will be more. Om,,, Om"
