The mobius looks great! What yarn did you use? BC? The colors look totally different! Bets

Libby,
Your mobius is so pretty. I would never have thought of the seed stitch for one. You`ve really got this mobius thing down! Benne

Libby, Very nice mobiuses (mobii?)! I love the I-cord trim, will have to try it sometime. Is it applied after the mobius is done or concurrently? Also, it is good to see an example of a project where BC is worked double. I like your baby blanket with the delicate crochet edging, as well. Seeing it made me put "get out and try the Bond" on my New Years resolution list! Sandra

Really nice mobius Libby, but when in the world do you find time to knit with a new baby in the house? When my boys were babies I was told by my DMIL to take naps when they did, and since I always do what I am told to do...., yeap I am a napper and to this day at 1 in the afternoon I still take a power nap! My baby turns 30 this year and I am still napping!

What lovely work. I am going to try the two needle technique soon. It makes so much more sense than knitting it like a scarf and then using kitchener to join. Cate

Bets it is baby cashmere but the pics are just horrible. I`m gonna have to have Boldilocks here take my pics from now on! Its the rose color from last yrs BC offerings. I doubled up the yarn to make a heavier wt yrn and its warmer as well. The color is closer to Benne`s shawl for Marge but I had to lighten up the pic and when I did that the color changed....
I applied the i-cord as I was knitting it. I dont like to go back and then add stuff. Thats just more work.
Shui Kuen: The design is all mine! I`m pretty proud of that. I just casted on an even # of stiches and then went from there. When I got to the width that I wanted I bound off, grafted the ends of the i-cord and, sewed in the yarn tails and called it good. I didnt wash or block it.
Cate: the annabelle and beatrice cast on is a pain in the toosh...so I would recommend not casting on that way. I have the Cat Bordhi book "magical knitting" and she does the same cast on as EZ does. Its basically an invisible/removable cast on except that you dont use the extra waste yarn. you use the bottom of the circ. this is really confusing....Ok let me try to explain.
1)Get a long circ needle. 47-60" should do the trick in the size that you want and that fits the gauge of the yarn you are using. Tie a knot in yarn..I know, I know, just do it. Now slip that knot to the left needle and push it past the needle to the string.
2) Hold the rt needle in your hand as well as the knot you just tied. (note: the knot counts as one stitch)
3)Dip the needle you are holding down in front of the cable, then under the cable, and then up on the other side.
4) the needle then swoops up the yarn and the goes back under the cable to the top where you started from.
you should now have 2 loops on your needle. one on the needle itself and another on the cable. Continue this process until you have the desired # of stitches.
VERY IMPORTANT: you can only count the stitches that you place on the needle (ie. top) NOT on the cable. so lets say you "cast on" 100 stitches you will actually have 200.... 100 on the top and 100 on the bottom.
you need twice the amount of stitches you think that you need because you are knitting only one side. so basically if you count the bottom stitches as well, your moebius will be half what you wanted it to be.
Place a stitch marker at the end of the cast on and then start knitting! have fun...pick a simple pattern or a complex one I dont care just have fun with it!
when you get to the width that you want, cast off!
I hope that this wasnt too confusing. Cat Bordhi`s book has pics and everything so you dont get confused. and a lady a my LYS told me that Cat uses EZ way of casting on. Honestly this is really really easy and much better than trying to manipulate the 2 needles for a cast on.
if you need any more help just let me know
Libby

Thanks for the help. I have a free baby sock pattern from Cat Bordhi`s site. I actually ended up winding the yarn onto the needles because so few stitches were needed. I didn`t like using two circs for the baby socks because of the ladders problem but think they will be excellent for larger projects. I found a mobius scarf on circs when I was looking at klein bottle hats on google. The science types love both. Cate
