Finished the Flower Basket Shawl from IK Fall 2004. LOVE this one. It was quick. A few nights of knitting while watching TV and it`s beautiful. This one`s for my Aunt but I`ll definitely be making another one... at least ... Picture`s on my blog: http://scottishlamb.typepad.com

Beautiful shawl Jean! Isn`t it amazing how much difference blocking makes? What color will you make next? I`m astounded by those steel needles and how Shetland knitters are able to fly using them. They look like a lethal weapon.;-} Benne

Thanks guys. I`m telling you... this is a great project. Like I always say... a lot of bang for your knitting buck. Benne, those needles are incredible. They are very hard steel and pointy sharp. When we went to Shetland and were at the community center in Lerwick I heard this quick tinging noise behind me. I turned and saw this knitter with one of these sticking out of a horsehair belt around her waist and another flying through the air. There were some ladies doing lace like that and some doing fair isle. It was incredible to say the least.
Peace, Jean

Oh Jean your shawl is gorgeous. You`ve inspired me to start mine sooner than I planned. I love your blog, think it is one of the best on the net. You are so very talented.

WOW! I`ve wanted to make this since I first saw it in the mag. What yarn did you use? Think I could use Uros (with appropriate needle change)? I have a few skeins left over.

Bets, did I miss something? lol. It wouldn`t be the first time. You, of all people, shouldn`t be wearing a dunce cap. What happened?!

Thanks Patricia and Skully. You`ll love knitting it. Really. And it`s so quick. The drape is fantastic on it once it`s blocked. I used a sock yarn double stranded from the local German yarn shop. I think Uros would be great in it!
And thanks for the kind words about the blog, Patricia! It`s a lot of fun to do. Kind of like a huge show and tell where people will actually like you talking about knitting! lol.

Hi!
Oh, the FBS has me PO`d-I can`t seem to make it to row 20 without a mistake. Amy (the I need Old Rose alpaca person) said that there is an odd spot in it, and I needed to look at it differently, and so I plan to try it again-I have frogged it at least 5 times. She gave me the tip when I was in mid-gut wrencher.
