Thanks for all of your kind words. I am hoping to get DH to pose for a picture when we hook up at the end of September and he can be "Mr. October", we shall see.
I did not use a pattern for this, just sort of winged it and I am pretty happy with the results. It is so soft and not really heavy but I am sure it will be very warm having used 2 strands of alpaca.
Thanks again everyone.

Patricia, how much alpaca did you use for your lovely poncho?

Thanks for all of your kind words. This shawl is really quite simply to make the problem is that the pattern is only written for half and then the other side is "mirror image". I found some good tools on the inter net that others had put together and they made this project sail along. I did make this 3 times because I was not happy with the colors, so if I had the patience to do it 3 times anyone can do this. If you are interested in the charts and things e mail me at ortizpj@prodigy.net and I will be happy to share them with you.
Bets you are so right about finishing it just in time, I leave on Monday, but I still have 1 childs poncho to complete and I am less than half way there.
Thanks again

Girlfriend, get your butt out of the basement-you know keepers only marry keepers!

And tell him we said hi!

Thank you for all of your kind words and understanding regarding my babies! David has reached Kosovo safely and will not return to the States until March when our son gets married. It is going to be a long lonely winter I fear, but this too shall pass.
Thanks again, and hopefully tomorrow will be a knitting day!

It sounds like March will be a lovely with month with your husband returning AND a wedding. I hope the February blues pass you quickly and you can cuddle up with your Elann treasures to keep you snuggled in the meantime. Daryl

Thank you everyone for your kind words about my Charlotte.
I have made 3 of these shawls, one in Koigu, one in Jaeger Luxury Tweed and this one in the Peru. I really like it done in the solid as the pattern really shows up more clearly.

Great job, Patricia. I`ve had this pattern for a while but I`m terrible with colors and could never find the right Koigu combo (especially over the net). Maybe I`ll just try your way and do it in a solid!

Peace,

Hi, Patricia I`m late to comment;life has been busy and complicated for the past 2 weeks. The shawl looks both beautiful and comfortable. Thanks for the report on the different yarns. Jamie

Belated, but sincere... wishing you a happy birthday and pausing to think of all the many times your knitting has inspired me... I don`t think there are very many people with as fine a sense of "what colors to put together and just where" as you have! It`s always perfect!

Thank you so much everyone for all the wonderful feedback. It is very nice after a hard day of work to come home to so many compliments. I wrote down all the suggestions and I am going to be very busy the next few days checking them out. Thank you so much again and I will let you know what I decide.
