I finally washed and am currently blocking the fair isle sweater that was giving me such a hard time. all in all I think that it turned out pretty good. I`m sure that it will be dry tomorrow and I`ll have to take a pix of it and post it for you.

I washed it in wool lite and I had no idea that the red would bleed as much as it did. However it is incredibly soft and I`m hoping that it stays that way after dried. And of course everyone was correct, the wool did relax after it was washed. I`ll cant wait for the finished product.

Hi Libby, Congrats on completing your fair isle. Just a word of caution (advice): use Wool Lite sparingly. It is really a bit harsh, in spite of its labeling. Eucalan or Brown Sheep wool wash are usually recommended for good woolens. Also the use of vinegar in both the wash and rinse are recommended. Vinegar helps set the colors (salt water is also good for this), and it is a great rinse for all sorts of things. Brown Sheep wool wash recommends some vinegar in the wash water; it helps the washing agent to penetrate the wool more. Happy knitting. Jamie
