Marion, you are fairly flying on the Fair Isle! I don`t know what her colors were but yours look fantastic. Such fine work! Benne

Marion - looks great. You are really moving along. ?? Since you did the back, you must not be working on circular needles?? Are you purling in fair isle?? Just curious.

I`m not a real fan of circular knitting...but here the directions do not include the use of circs. And yes, I`m purling in Fair Isle, AND, many of the pattern motifs start on the purl side!

It is not difficult...there are some fairly simple Fair Isle patterns out there with 1) only two colors per row, and 2) all pattern changes on the front side which still yield a rich, complex look. Just try one!

The pattern is confusing...in the writing to the pattern it states certain colors, but on the color chart it`s a bit different. Neither match the picture of the sweater in the pattern. I chose colors based on the writing, which was what Ann put on the description of the pattern. What I meant by varying the colors was that I changed colors on each pattern repeat, using the same colors, but simply in a different order. If you look at the "flowers," for example, you`ll see that the third row has red where there is blue in the first and second rows. That`s all I meant.
