Hey, all you aubergine lovers (anyone? Benne? :-) ) -- have you seen the gorgeous "coppered aubergine" Evita on the sneak peek page? (www.elann.com/sneakpeek.asp) Maybe I didn`t scroll down enough before so I missed it, but I just saw it today.

I saw those this morning and wondered "Hey, what`s up with that!" I made a sweater from the copper aubergine and it is really pretty. Because it`s a thick and thin yarn (the thin portions are the copper metallic and almost like flat ribbon, it`s a little more of a challenge for seams not to have holes but it looks really good and knits up nicely if you like thick and thin yarns. It`s very warm and I think if I made another project from it I would make use it for a really dramatic jacket or cardigan type jacket. I could see this yarn with a big cowl neckline in an oversized sweater too. The yarn did not pill when I wore it and it feel smooth against the skin. Because of the gauge, it knits up really quick. Ooh, I just had a thought this would be great in a "Not your mother`s coat with some really other great yarn. I`m thinking...something with as much visual kick as the Evita has. I`ll think this over. I take it back, mine was the coppered mahogany. I`m still thinking about another yarn. That silvered black is way cool, very sophisticated. I wonder if they make silver mohair yarn? Benne
