have sent a pic of aforementioned top in /raspberry - Yes Bets, I have a ball about 2-1/2 inches in diam. left. Re: Yardage The pattern called for just around 300m and I used 3 skeins. I knit on a smaller gauge needle to meet the gauge of the pattern. So, I would have to say that the yardage - at least on the balls of Raspberry, were fine.
Re: Pattern It is "Party Girl" in size 4 from Jil Eaton`s "Big Fish, Little Fish" book (available at Elann) with modifications to neckline as I know how kids hate to put a tight necked cardi on!!!!! This pattern has quite a wide neck too, but in the cotton, I figured it might not have enough stretch at the neck. I bound of 2 sts about 2-3 inches from the neckline and then single croched with the Turquoise Araucania. The ties with metal bead (so it will hang straight) were poked through a hole and sewn onto the back with a timeless piece of embroidery floss I`ve had for um, well, maybe, about 35 years!!
Margaret the model, quite liked it and she hopes that there is more Araucania out there. Les

Beautiful top, Les! The turquoise trim with the raspberry looks so right together. And cousin Margaret is an adorable sweetie...you`re going to have to make her one too!

Oh Bravo Les!
I hope the giftee feels really special-that top is tres cute (ok, YOU have a gorgeous model) and I think you are just taunting me to make this for DGD! I agree about tight necks and little kids, why work all that time for regularly scheduled fights? Great styling choice on the neckline! Smart thinking, now it`s a feature!
