Arnie,
As far as I know ladder is a style of yarn, as is fun fur. It`s called ladder because it has two strands running parallel while have a yarn section joining the two every so often. Sorry for the poor description. But if you go into a yarn shop and ask for a ladder yarn they should know what to you want.

The other more experienced knitters on this site might have a better description or know it to be something different.

It looks like a ladder. You can see this yarn at knittinggarden.com Enter the site and click on Trendsetter yarns, then click on Binario and there is a picture. There are lots of different types of novelty yarns in that same section under Trendsetter. It`s absolutely amazing the different types of yarn that is being made now, so many possiblities!

it is also referred to as "railroad" yarn, because it looks like railroad tracks. I use it extensively in scarves mixed with other yarns, usually a ribbon.
