Thanks so much. The Intermezzo is really fun to work with, and in the mini sizes you just FLY through the designs. I think it is a little better suited to textural knitting rather than jacquards or fair isles. take care, HEIDI

Heidi your sweaters are so beautiful! I`m sure that they are loved and appreciated. I am somewhat new to knitting and am currently in an intermediate class AND LOVING it! I truly have the bug. Can u recommend good quality yarns to use other than Berocco? I`m in the process of doing some sleeveless turtlnecks and shells for myself. I`m using Mission Falls on one and Berocco ribbon yarn on another but I could use some advice when purchasing. Thanks and once again I am really impressed!

Wow Heidi-
Are you sure these are not the pictures that come out of the picture frames? (Quit trying to pass the family in your new wallet off as your own....LOL, kidding!) Gee, beautiful kids, perfect sweaters... what a fantastic job! They look great!

Heidi,
What fun! Two gorgeous children in all those fabulous sweaters. What really impresses me is that you found the time to make those intricate sweaters while caring for the two little guys, and I don`t see any peanut butter and jelly anywhere in your pics.LOL Benne

Hi Heidi, you are lucky you have boys who will wear sweaters. Mine are 15 and 12 and say maybe when the are old (21) I can make something for them. I wish I started knitting when they were younger. I also really like the intermezzo. bye judy

My son is now 22 and I haven`t knit for him since just before he was born. Baby showers for younger colleques at work started me going again. Last year when I suggested I should make a sweater for my son, he replied,"You can do that!?" He wears it all the time now! Now my husband wants one, my father wants socks and so on. I never have time to knit for myself! Knit for yourself now; soon enough you`ll be knitting for your sons and then your grandchildren. Take care. hthrj

Hi, I haven`t really made much with those `adult` yarns you mention. Also, not sure of the rule sof this forum, whether it`s appropriate to discuss yarns not sold on elann. I do think the intermezzo comes out nice and sort of chunky...i see that stuff being sold at the Gap these days.

Haha. Come on over and look at my WALLS, you`ll see plenty of PB&J there. Seriously, I am of Swiss descent and was pretty much born with the ability to knit..which I never used much til I was pregnant. then I had total bedrest, I made 8 sweaters before baby #1 was born! So I`ve managed to stay a season or two ahead of their growth, from the get-go. But I can knit and do something else, like read or whatever. A lot of times I can sit on the floor and play trains with the boys while knitting a simple fair isle in the round. That whimsical fairisle sweater shown on the younger guy at the beach - that one went so quick, I immediately made a second one for his best friend`s birthday in less than a week. one secret is; I always look for fair isles that have rhythmic multiples of low numbers (for example , 3)that take no effort to memorize. Additionally, it was a eureka moment, when I finally got the nerve to do the whole thing in the round, nordic style and hack it down the sides with scissors to make the armholes ( do not attempt this at home without good instructions). Thanks for your kind words.

Which cable one? the yellow one? i think i did get that pattern from a Debbie Bliss book, but applied it to my own specs. I saw the `braided` types of cables (like the dark blue one) in a magazine and applied those to my own specs as well. The light blue one with the snowmen was from Dale of norway. intermezzo really takes great to cables. Thanks everyone for your kind words. The truth is, my boys now LOATHE wearing their sweaters and I bribe them with M&M`s to sit for photos, photography being another hobby :-)
