Just thought I`d share a little more of my enthusiasm for Elizabeth - I have to say that I am really enjoying knitting things that actually look like they are hand knit. You know, that homey, "my mama made this" look. And I kind of like the element of surprise when you cast on the required number of stitches, not really knowing if the sweater will fit my 1 year old, my 3 year old, or ME! I`m really kind of having a ball collecting all of her books and spending my mornings with a cup of coffee and Elizabeth. One note I`d like to share about the baby surprise jacket, though - I was kind of disappointed that the sleeves turned out elbow-length. I didn`t realize that it would have been better to cast on with a provisional cast on, so that I could then knit down to the proper length. Anyone have any other similar problems with her "one size fits all" patterns? Anything I should know?

If you just pick up the stitches around the "cuff" and knit down three or four inches in whatever yarn(s) you still have left, the sleeves will turn out much better. Provisional cast-on is not necessary. Remember, 2 rows = 1 stitch in garter stitch. It`s a great pattern for using up stash.
