I think it was you, Tam, who recommended this seller to me - so hopefully you`ll have some info! Now would seem to be the time to buy as she has a lot of stuff on sale, but I`ve never used any of her yarn before and was wondering about the colourways. There seem to be so many colours in each skein - how do they look? Does the garment go into thick stripes of each colour, or are they more blended? (I`m thinking sweater width rather than scarf). Does the end result look too busy for a sweater?? Help!

I`ve bought (and actually knitted, LOL) some of her yarns. The ones I`ve tried have been both very colorful and very blended, no stripes. I had a very colorful boucle that I used for a large shawl (seed stich, rectangular). Between the loops and the colors, it would have been to busy for a sweater. A muted but colorful cotton yarn made a great summer shell. I used a rather loud chenille (green, pink and purple) for a kids sweater. I`ll have to check out her auction, I promise not to get into a bidding war

Oh yes! Love her dearly. I`ve both knitted and crocheted her yarn with lovely results. Her yarn does not stripe, it just has the more "splotchy" (without the bad connotations of that word) varigated look to it. I personally like very rich colors and I think her really deep colors (even the wild looking ones) work up to look very tasteful. Now, the BRIGHT rainbow colored ones I would be afraid to use for an adult! They might look good but they would be VERY loud.
I have found that her cotton yarns bleed and fade significantly the first time you wash them but the color that is left is, if anything, an improvement. I have not had any of the wools fade significantly but you still want to be careful when you wash them the first time because they will bleed on other things. For hand dyed yarns like hers I really like those "color catcher" sheets that you can buy in the detergent aisle. You can do a delicate wash and throw one of those sheets in and it will pull out the extra color.
AS long as you stay away from obviously kiddie looking wild colors I think you`ll be pleased. My favorite of her colorways are "razzleberry", "leaf litter" and "rose garden". There is also another "rose" named colorway that is fabulous. Good luck!
