Just thought I'd throw this out to you in case anyone is looking for a fund raising idea. Good idea for the Spring Cleaning season. Sewers are just as good as we knitters for having stash.
The charity group that I knit things for a sale in the fall just had an "Unused Fabric Sale" People donated fabric in lengths of no less than .5 metres. The sale was on Saturday and they raised $19,000.00 and there was very little overhead! They also accepted yarn and other crafting supplies.
They accepted donations on Wed and Thurs only - to be brought to the church basement so no one had to store things.
Left over fabrics were donated to another community to support a sale they were having in another town or the Goodwill.
