I believe that the numbers assigned by a function of the new chat forum software when a new user posts. If you have posted on the previous Chat Center, you already have this information in your profile, so no number is assigned. For new posters, you can remove the number (and personalize your profile) by clicking on "My Profile" in the center of the dark brown menu bar above, editing your profile information, and then clicking to save the changes.

eta: Does the site seem a ton faster than before? Did they upgrade the server?

Dianepurls, we tried our best to match old chat site names to email logins, but since you didn't need to be logged in at the old site to post, we couldn't match up everyone. If you'd like to email me at info@elann.com, letting me know what your log in email address is, I'll see if we can execute a match now.

Okay, I knew I had to be up there on the list so I can't say I am totally surprised to see that I am indeed, the fastest mouth in the South, or just about anywhere else on several continents! I can't wait to see how shocked and amazed Thom will be when I tell him I have the most posts on the chatsite. ha! I earned it, it's not easy to type that many smart-mouth posts in 7 years!

Is there a way to stay logged in? It would on the old site, I never needed to log in when I visited unless I was using a different computer.

I'm sorry, but this software is set up much differently, and you do need to be logged in with your email address to post.

I'm trying to adjust to all the new things on Elann.com. Maybe in a few more days, I'll know my way around. Have you done away with the share portion of the site, can't remember the names, but items to sell and item desperately wanted? Jamie

Jamie - if you click "Home" - the first menu item for the community, you'll see that the swap center is now incorporated into the forum topics.

It makes no difference to me! I don't mind looking like a newbie...besides, with the addition of the avatars, I can have my Ravatar... so I would imagine most know who I am:-)
