Message from patw

Thank you all for your kind words. First let me set the record straight. This sweater was made for my wonderful DH. My co-worker John just modeled it for the picture. Another worker has the digital camera that I do not own yet, so that`s why the picture was taken at work.
It`s always hard to say exactly how long it took me to knit this sweater as I work on multiple things, but I would estimate about two months. The hard thing about this sweater was after it was sewn together, DH could not get his head through the neck ribbing, or his hands through the wrist ribbings. I had to unsew all the pieces and stretch by wetting and blocking the wrist bans, but nothing would help the neck ribbing. I had to unravel all of it, and pick up the stitches again, picking up more than called for stitches and using one size larger needles and then resew the whole sweater back again. I told my husband it is a good thing I love him. Also, it makes it harder for him to grumble about my yarn purchases!

As for knitting with Lara. I have to say that this yarn splits so you have to be careful while knitting. I was also working about the ends, so I used a dab of Frey Check on all of the ends that looked bad. Frey Check is a "glue" used in sewing and can be found at JO Ann`s and other fabric places.

For the cost, Lara is great and as you know comes in so many colors. I now want to make several Kaffe Fassett sweaters that also take a lot of colors. The next one will be for me!
Patw

That really is incredible, even more so that you made it in Lara. I would think the cotton would be much less forgiving of any variation in tension as you change colors. Very, very impressive.

PatW,
I`m echoing the others...WOW, beautiful! What an impressive feat, I`m just imagining all the bobbins of different colors that you handled on the back side. And the outlines are as precise as needlework! Lucky co-worker :-).
