Libby,
That is a very special blanket and as Benne said, heirloom quality! What a neat idea to knit it in the round and steek it. When I saw the blog close-up pictures with the lettering and the checkerboard lines, I thought you had to do fair-isle with flat knitting, so I`m glad you were able to do it the fast way in the round instead. That is a nice saying that you chose, too...a blessing as you tuck your baby in at night!

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

Yes this is a Libby Original design. It was knit from KP shine on US6 needles. The center was knit in the round and then steeked! Now that was exhilarating and fun! The first border is the flying geese border found in the M-D Knitting book. After all of the border strips were made, I hand sewed them on the blankie and then picked up stitches to knit the mitered corners. Once that was all done, I picked up stitches around the edge with yellow and knit in garter stitch until I got tired of that and then did an i-cord bind off.

Then I went to JoAnn`s and used the 40% off coupon on some cotton flannel and then hand sewed that on the back to hide all of the backside.

I`m really pleased with the results as it is the most soft and snuggly blanket that I own.

Libby
