I can`t say I`ve ever followed a pattern <big grin>
Combination is whatever I have in my stash. For a start one could order 2 skeins each of optic and the coordinating HW or HS and make a fine big needle garter stith, mock turkish, or faggot pattern scarf.

I saw the scarf at the Berroco site and it was fairly narrow as I recall. I think two balls like Scully suggested would be a good amount for a scarf.

Thanks benne! I ordered 2 of each color, guessing that would be safer.

Hey, last night when we got home from ballet, Anne opened up a box from you, and was she ever thrilled! She named the babies Eric Rene and Anna Lily; they are twins, but she hasn`t decided on last names yet, says that part is always hard. The cardinals do not have names yet, but they will have soon, and they are being fed and well-cared-for. And did you know that Amethyst Lights was Anne`s favorite color of last year`s Outback wools? She is very amazed at how you somehow must`ve known that, and will tresure that little doll blanket forever. Thanks so much!

Dear Benne,
I am headed out today, wearing your wrap. Must make good use of a blustery FL day in the 50s!

Hope you are having a great morning so far!

Oh my goodness, Michelle! I need to knit her a proper blankie of the yarn with fancy stitches. I went through my swatches to use as a cushion for Eric Rene and Anna Lily on their journey across America and that`s the one I thought Anne would like. The box seemed to be just the thing for little girl treasures and I hoped the cardinals would cheer her like they do me. Hug Anne for me and tell her I think her choice of names for the twins is perfect. :-}

The blankie you DID knit WAS the proper one for the twins... now don`t go knitting more, or you know it won`t all fit into the cardinal box, and that would mess up the whole perfectness of everything. THINK THROUGH KID`S EYES: It is the PERFECT cloud-puff of fluff in the PERFECT colors. Fancy stitches would NOT improve these qualities AT ALL. (Anne would not want to hear that you even THOUGHT about changing the twins` blankie! What heresy!)

Thou shalt not render remedies to that which is whole in its perfection and beloved in its present state. Or... if it ain`t broken, don`t go fixin` it. (Had to translate for you Tennesee folks, after readin` yer post below `bout them fancy snots from Hollywood!)

There is some slight possibility the female cardinal will be named Cardinella, not final yet, her mate will politely wait until the lady has a name. The cardinal ornament hangs in a place of honor near a ballerina ornament (i.e.: NOT to be packed away as a Christmas-only item!), and his name is also in-progress at this time.

Okay, you win, I wouldn`t want to throw the twin`s blankie situation into chaos. ;-} Yeah, I kind of got off on a rant didn`t I??? You know how "quaint" we Tennessee types are - real `characters`! HA!
Birds make me happy - glad Anne feels the same way. :-}

Oh yeah, was I watching!!! I rushed home from Mass after discussing football with a couple of my CCD boys who are now in college, put on my sweats and waited impatiently for the game. At one point, when the Steelers intecepted and virtually slammed the door on Denver,, I told Thom, "Bri is running naked through the streets swinging knitting needles above her head, screaming "Takin` the Bus to the Motor City!" ;-} After the game was over Thom seriously asked me (in a very sweeet, concerned voice), "Do you think your little friend Bri will be okay?" HAHAHA! I assured him you were probably more than okay right now. Whatta guy. :-} I`ve got a good feeling about this, after all, the Bus has never been to a Super Bowl, it`s probably his last year... either way, they`re both great teams and I like them both. BTW, Bri, when the Titans went to the Super Bowl, we spent our vacation money and then some to follow them to every playoff game and the Super Bowl and I`ve never regretted it, even though we lost. We decided we didn`t know if they`d ever be back, and we wanted to be there. I didn`t sleep for two days before the game, even with libations. I was a maniac at the game. Shocking, right??? ;-}

Benne,
You and Thom are so funny. It was an interesting scene, a lot of sweating and the wind was blowing really hard here. I am safe and mostly intact (the filling is my only issue). Yesterday was intense. I am still in shock to a great extent. I`ve been a lifelong Steelers and Orioles fan. Both have done O.K. in my life-time, though considerably better before I was old enough to enjoy it. It`s just a slice of what Red Sox or White Sox fans experienced, but it was overwhelming. I never thought they would lose, and I got even more confident once I saw the ball go into the hands of Bettis and Ward at critical moments.

I hear what you are saying with the great Titans chase to the Super Bowl. We are at the point where it would be too much of a financial roll of the dice to put it on the line to go. I can only imagine how wild you must have been. I would require the jacket with arms that tie in the back for the plane trip and work days leading up. So, unless something major happens, we are staying here. There are a lot of Steeler bandwagon fans now in the office. Maybe they should come to Heinz Field South for a party...

Bri,

It was just the right time for us to go to the SB. It was one of the things I`d always wanted to do (even if my team wasn`t playing), it was in Atlanta - we drove, we had been saving for a trip, and since our team didn`t have the history or chance to go back like some of the other teams, we figured this was it. AND Tina Turner was going to perform, it was in the stars. ;-} I`m sure your Steelers will be back soon. :-}
Thom was funny, I think judging by my reaction when we won the AFC championship, he thought you`d be as excited as I was. When he asked about my "little friend, Bri" he didn`t mean it as a diminutive remark; anyone under the age of thirty is "little" to him, you know, it`s that Southern thing. ;-}
GO STEELERS!

Oh, I hope so, Libby. After all, it`s tax time and I still have to get through that. I WILL be keeping Thom away from my computer then. ;-}

Thank you. The box came today and I`m all set for the Blackberry wine. The quest is too cool. I had resisted, now the girls are going to have terrible time wresting it from my avaricious grasp! I have your Sierra boxed up, just didn`t quite get to looking you your address. So it should go out Monday. Daryl

I`m glad you liked the Quest. Let me know if you need more of it for you or your girls. I thought it had a lot of potential for trim and fun projects. Monday will be fine for the yarn. I shouldn`t have knitted up all the fiddlehead green by then. If you still have the box, my addy is on it. ;-} I`ll email you offsite to reimburse you for it. Thank you for bailing me out.
