I like colors OTHER than pink or blue for babies, and I rather like the gentle purple. It`s not lavender, and not bright purple either. I didn`t continue along in the pattern towards the back of the head. It was one of those "continue along it pattern" directions, and I didn`t have the patience to figure it out. It`s a sort of leafy lace, and the free pattern didn`t have a chart. I dislike those patterns of all words. But it made a cute hat. I did I-cord ties rather than a purchased ribbon. I also apologized to mom for the handwash. I`m hoping that the softness of the yarn makes up for the lack of machine washing.
