Vapours were induced by an overwhelming emotional event, usually a man was involved, and hopefully, present to catch the vapouree in his arms a la Rhett Butler. It`s funny, I don`t seem to have a case of the vapours unless it`s yarn or George Clooney or Denziel Washington or Liam Neeson. HA!
B2

This yarn is quite a bit like Sisik - in fact it`s the yarn I was playing with when MacChick posted her Diamond Lace challenge, and some of you assumed that the solution picture I posted was Sisik - it was actually Valentino.

I`m sensitive to animal fibres, and don`t wear any next to the trunk of my body, but Valentino certainly is fine on my arms. It`s tweedy, as opposed to silky, but its fabric has a really nice, soft hand, particularly after washing.

Re colors, both reds are mostly primary red, but the tomato relish has more blue in it than the fireweed, which has just the tiniest hint of orange. The northern lights has a black halo, but with charcoal behind it, and many colors in the neps.

I hope I haven`t missed any of your questions! Gotta go post the yarn!

I`m dyeing with curiousity also. I started up my sisik wool peddlers again, and it sounds as if this were similar, but without the viscose so maybe not quite as slipper soft? Daryl

"richly colored neps" is another way to say "bright little blobs"-you know, the little color blips in tweed yarn. I had exactly the same questions you did on color-on my monitor, the tomato is a little bluer than the fireweed. The Northern Lights looks like grey tweed with blobs.

B

For Elann c/s if around: Are Tomato Relish & Fireweed the same color? Is it orange? Red? Is Northern Lights primarily a deep purple? (hoping for black) Most importantly, what is the softness level of the yarn?
Thank you!
Joan
