I just noticed your post to me. Thank you so much for your kind words. I am going to try and get to the MD W&S this Sunday, but there is a lot going on at home so I might not make it. I did think that this year I deserved to buy some yarn, given my finished WIP`s but then I just bought 50 sks of various colors of the Lara so..... I will let you all know if I go and if I make any purchases.

Every time they mention the superbowl up here I always think of you! Its the Steelers and the Seahawks and of course its about an hr from my house! I`m staying away from downtown Detroit cuz there is no parking and we would have to take a bus to get there. I`m a bit leary of the bus system over here. (Its not funded well)

Things over here are really good. The job is soooo much better than the last one and much less stress. I get to spend more time with DH and K and that is great.

Things here are improving. My tooth is fixed. Work/ school is going really smoothly. The Steelers are in the Superbowl. Projects are getting finished. Charles & I are having fun & thinking ahead to summer vacation, which begins in May for us.

On the needles currently is the contest piece as well as another fair isle. I`m anxious to finish the contest piece so I can hurry up and write the official instructions and get the pic to Ann.

I also designed a baby sweater for Karolyn out of the Only that was offered a while back. Kim and I were just raving about it. Well the Ann had to pop the contest on us and well the sweater never got on the needles. So that is the next to get started.

It was a multi-textured skene that was meant for one needle size, despite being all different kinds of yearn. It was really cool, in all sorts of colors and variations. The issue was that the lady who created it was awful, sort of mean and condescending to those of us just knitting. I couldn`t see spending my yarn $$$ with an attitude like that. It amazed me because that`s her source of income. I guess some people are willing to pay for that kind of `service`. I did take some pictures that I hope to post later today, so you can see what I am talking about.

We are getting married at 2:30pm off the coast at Dunedin, 25 mi. north of Tampa. We are in a drier and cooler trend. It was a perfect 74 degrees this morning, with some sun. The Tampa forecast for Saturday is supposed to be warm, 90 with 30% chances of showers in the afternoon. The nice thing about FL weather patterns is that the storms are the result of the sea breeze and they blow over the beach to storm a couple miles inland. With us literally out in the Gulf, the odds are with us. But, lots of clear weather wishes never hurt!!!

Can you tell I am brimming over with excitement!?!

I don`t envy you all that - I was trying to organise a church wedding back in Ireland (DH and I had already been married, just us and the JP, but that means nothing to Irish Catholics, LOL) and it was driving me batty. I was *almost* relieved when Immigration, after giving me yesses, finally give me an official "No, you can`t leave the US, or if you do, you won`t be able to get back in for 10 years". So, no church wedding for us as yet, dum de dum de dum... heehee.

I am still in kimono purgatory, so I really apprecite your suggestion. I used to be a toddler teacher so I knew that ribbon shown in IK was not gonna happen. I think all knitting that requires concentration and good light will have to wait until we are safely moved to happen. I`ll keep you posted.

The Colinette I bought was 22.50, or the most I have EVER spent on one thing of yarn. I kinda had no idea what it was, believe it or not. I was hooked from the first look at the array or colors. I made about a 70" scarf with what I bought, which I would do again because a little went a long way.

I was reading your blog today and I tried to comment but cant for some crazy reason (I dont know what the problem is) but anyway....about the Kimono.....what about an I cord or a yarn twist for it? Anyway it was just a suggestion.

OH and at my LYS they have TONS of Colinette and holy cow is that stuff ever expensive. It was like $22/hank and I didnt even touch the stuff cuz I saw the price tag first and was too afraid for the oils on my hands to get on it and get it dirty.
