Thanks all very much-I`ve been working rough hours this week (14 a day) so I haven`t had a ton of time to sit down and work on the pattern. I`m pleased that it`s done in time for the fair!

I want to go thru and dink with the pattern one more time-then I`ll post it, ok? Should be done next Friday.

B

Bets,

Bets, I think it looks terrific! You`d better dust off a spot for your blue ribbon. And in raspberry HW, you know that`s gonna be a knockout too. I think you are one smart woman to figure out that bag and execute it so well. (clap, clap)

B2

See my $1050 bag? Jell-us??? (hahahahah!)

A few things went wrong and a few went really well. I ordered some raspberry HW today to redo this bag-because-

The errors-
It`s done in bag wool, 4 spi, and it came out REALLY large-about 12X10, which is 1) so big it must be lined or it will be floppy and 2) too big for the modern Miss-that size is reserved for the "I`m the mom and have to carry everyone`s garbage" set.

I set the cable interval at every five rows, and that worked GREAT when I was working in the round, but it also meant that when I got to the flap, I had to cable backwards on rows 10 and 20. I found that this is possible, and honestly, not all that hard, but I realize this doesn`t suit everyone.

What went right-
Fulling helped give it a lot more body
I remembered how to macrame
It actually looks nice
I had set the cable at a wide interval, thinking it would pull closer after a short session in the dryer-and it did
The hardware-I was able to find suede lacing on 25 yard spools, which was pretty helpful, and not all that expensive. The silver loop was a cannibalized pendant I found on sale at Wally-world. I am pleased with the look.

I learned that accurately documenting a pattern is hard work-that must be why there are so many drop sleeved pullover patterns in this world. I want to make this one more time (raspberry HW with beige suede lacing-c`mon, it sounds gaw-jus) before I post it-just to make sure I have it right. Give me a few days on that.

B
