What`s that stitch? What`s that stitch? I`ve just gotta know what that stitch is! (BTW, I think the color is great!)

LOL the real color is a nice green, which my scanner turned Irish for some reason. :-D

Stitch is Elegant ribbing Barbara Walker Charted Design book. It is a beautiful stitch, but almost like double knitting it is so dense. And almost no stretch.

Isn`t Barbara Walker just great? No matter how often I look, I see something new.

yeah, you could knit a lifetime out of one of her books. That doesn`t stop me from lusting after having them all. And you see her pattern stitches all over the place, and very few people credit her as the designer.

O.K., that`s the second time today! I have the first two treasuries, thought I could get by with just those... but I guess not!

Suzann: Lovely stitches. Yes, BW and EZ are the great knitting hero.

That`s a beautiful stitch indeed! Do you think it would have more "give" in a very thin yarn - like BS or BC?

Suzann,

That`s beautiful, even with a scanner with a mind of its own - mine does the same thing. :-} Now, I`ve got to get my BW out and look up that lovely stitch pattern.

I am not sure if it would be more stretchy in a lighter yarn, might be. I was using a small needle and Cascade 200 wool. Might be why it was so firm. Trying to knit fast before St Pats was over

Benne, scanners are a tool of the devil. If the pics are huge they are off color Big Grin

As a non-sock knitter, I am very impressed with your smart pair! They look just fabulous, and I`ll bet they are a treat for the feet. Who ended up getting these?

Eileen.

LOL glad it got there. I wasn`t sure I had really mailed it. :-D

Enjoy, you have given that poor yarn a chance at a new life. Which is better then living in the back of my closet forever :)
