Hi, Bea, as you know, Peruvian Collection Quechua is a blend of alpaca and Tencel. If you found it too itchy to wear next to the skin, I suspect you would find the same thing with the Pure Alpaca yarn too.
Diane

Hi Bea,
I`m embarassed to admit that my 4 balls of sapphire alpaca are still in my stash--didn`t even get to the swatch stage yet! I am rethinking my intention of making a close skin contact scarf. I have sensitive skin too and always have a cotton layer underneath my animal fiber sweaters. So now I`m thinking of a loose fitting hooded scarf--the scarf part would drape over the collar of a winter coat. The alpaca is super-soft but it is fuzzy. Good luck!

I`m thinking that too, Bea - I ordered one ball of the Alpaca to see how I and DH like it first. Oh - newsflash! DH loves, I mean really, really loves the Fern Green Waterspun coming up! I thought the choosing of cream yarn for his latest sweater, and the declaration that he liked the Turquoise Araucania so much that he would wear something made from it, were flukes. But no, seemingly, he is starting to like colour and wants things knit with it!! Yahoo!!!

Boldilocks.

Have people who`ve knit scarves (Sandra D?) or other next-to-skin wear noticed any itch with the alpaca? I have pretty sensitive skin (Quechua was too itchy for next-to-skin wear for me), and I`m wondering what the alpaca`s like.
